Is it me or that plane doesn't look large enough to require a 300cc motor? Sweet looking motor though. Bet it sounds great also.

That plane is an Aviation Models 40% Yak54. I have a two cylinder 280cc engine in mine, so an EVO300 is just fine as well, and less vibrations.

Hi Radar

Do you have a weight limit in France, and how has you build up the plane. I'm planning to build exsactly the same plane as you but everybody in DK tells me it is impossible to keep it below 25 kg's

Regarding the Yak I can see that there are no smoke onboard, is it weight savings.

brgds.

hello,

the yak is a TOC1 3.30meter no smoke because not install for the moment

in France we don't have weight limit but we need up to 25kg: 2 receiver , 4 batteries and 2 power box system

i have an other biplane from Exclusiv Modellbau Christen eagle 1/2 with a 3W 200cc and a weight of 23.4kg
i think it's possible !

but with the EVO300 the weihgt is approx 28kg

regards
julien

I have an EVO300Magnesium in my Bill Hempel 50% Edge540, and that engine goes for $3,800.00 about 1 year ago. With the falling US$ it could be more now. After running a 4-cylinder engine in one airplane, you do wish you could run them in all your planes, they are smooth, responsive and sounds great.

Just curious, how much lighter is the magnesium version over the aluminum one?

That's a shame. I don't think that I would have ever owned one, but I sure like cooterizing it.

The EVO website still shows the EVO300Competition though for €3,130.00.

I think there is a 1lb difference in weight from the magnesium to the competition version of the EVO300.
