No issues here with 1 servo per. M McConville uses 1 per for some time now. there are several threads that have people flying with them. just use the inner servo bay and use top notch hardware and you be fine. i run 5 cells at 6volts for mine.

Welcome to the Big Bipe Club. Just finished mine a couple months ago. I went with the simple method.
2 JR rx's
2 JR 3000 mah nicad- yes nicad
1 9.6v nicad (turbine ecu pack) for rudder
1 JR 2400 nicad for ign
all batts are 4 cell except the 9.6 of course
all hd JR switches
1 8611a ea ail
1 8611a ea elev
one seiko 50 on rudder
With two rx's, I cross controlled everything. And I had plenty of ports to plug everything in. No matchboxes, powerbusses or any of that stuff. Not even a y harness. Only needed one mix for the ailerons on an aux channel. This is about as simple as it gets, and it works great. Now , if you're a lipo guy, you may want to go another direction. Me, I wanted reliability, simplicity, and as few failure points as possible.
Mine weighed in at just under 41 pounds, dry. I have now added a smoke system. So it gained a little. The 41 lbs did include the smoke tank and plumbing though.
Some things I did before I started the kit- I went over most of the joints that I could reach with BVM areopoxy. This being an ARF, you know why. I pinned the firewall with carbon fiber dowels. Most the servo bays needed extra plywood, especially the elevators.
Just to qualify all this, this is my first giant. I may have done this all wrong. But, like you, I asked alot of questions and made my own decisions. If I can help many further, don't hesitate to ask.

Just finished mine last week, First Flight last Saturday. LOVE IT ! 3W 157 Comp with cans.
I used one servo (JR 8611a) on each aileron and elevator, used 2 8611a's for rudder.I have not experienced any problems with this set up. and ask any one that knows me I ring an airplane out! I ran four gallong through it Saturday and Sunday, If anything was going to brake it would have Sunday.
I set my CG at close to 10" but I like a tail heavy plane. It is a monster on 3D rates and flies like a trainer on low rates. You will love it.
Good Luck and Happy Flying.

Hi Guys. Not sure if this is the right palce to ask but i am looking for a second giant scale model and i want a Bi Plane. I have a composite extra on a DA50 and would like either a 50CC or 100CC DA driven bi plane as my next model. ARFT is preferabel as i have limited time outside of work. I think the ultimate is a little large for the filed and my car (i live in the UK) and was wondering if there were other great models out there that you guys were aware of.
