Jason was flying my 50% Pitts Python (Pitts Model 12). He was doing, among other things, a 1 mile slow roll, which was about the coolest thing ever.
The plane is my 41% kit, blown up to 50% and scratch built in 4 months. Wing span is 132", length is 132". The engine is a 3W 212 4 cylinder.
I've had enough interest that I may do a dozen kits.

Hi Scott,
Hope your move went well. Are you coming to the XF Championship on June 16,17 & 18th. now that you are close by ?
I had no intentions of selling kits for the 50% Pitts 12(Python). I scratched built one to have at Joe Nall. I sent a rough cowl plug to Stan's Fiber Tech to layup (1) cowl on the plug which then was going to be destroyed to get the cowl off. Stan was able to make a mold which could be used to make a few cowls. At Joe Nall many people were interested in the 50%. I decided to try to produce about a dozen kits. Everyone wants one until they cost it out. Motor $2500., servos $1900., Kit $???, Covering $300. 6 months build time and on & on. The Pitts also weighs 64 pounds which means that it must be inspected by the AMA to receive a waiver to fly for one year. If I sell 6-8 kits I'll be surprised.
If you would like to send your 41% back I'll be happy to refund your money and I'll also pay the shipping charges and I'll let you know when the 50% kits are ready.
Thanks,
Bob Trueworthy

RE: Who's Pitts Model 12 was that at Joe Nall?
Now Bob why send the one back when It gives me a reason to have TWO.....I am thinking about it. Don't list me though as I really have no place to put it right now. All my storage units are full at the moment since we are still lookin for a house.
The move went well, unfortunately my schedules are weekends for the month of June, and probably most the summer months. No XFC for me this year. Next year I should be in a better position for getting to all these events.
I know I will make the DOGS show at Wright Pat if they have it (vacation time) so if you make that one I will see you there.

The 41% kit is available. Information can be found at www.bigairplanes.com
This kit contains all laser cut parts, canopy, fiberglass cowl, scoop, & wheel pants, 6061 aluminum landing gear and cabanes. Also a full size set of plans.
Note: These plans are not for scratch builders and are not sold separately. This kit is for advance builders and very advance pilots.
I'm working on a single place canopy to turn the Pitts Model 12 kit into the Pitts Python.
A construction manual is on the web site showing some of the build steps.
Thanks,
Bob Trueworthy

The 41% is the perfect size, got one almost finished, going with the 250cc radial that RCS is bringing to the states this summer. Also good for all the 150/200/210 size motors out there. Thought about the bigger one, just don't have nowhere to put that monster!!!! Bob is a great guy who makes a great product. Get one, gotta love those round-cowl bipes!!!!

Just thought you might enjoy seeing pictures of my 50% Pitts Python being flown by Quique Somenzini at the XFC last weekend.
Quique flew noon time demos on Fri. & Sat.
This Python weights 64 lb., 132" wing span, and is powered by a 3W 212, 4 cylinder engine.
Quique used almost full power to hover.

Still have his smaller one, and won't sell it for anything. Would need a bigger trailer if I did. Add smoke and you have a great show plane. Dennis

I have been looking for a US distributor for tha CH Models Pitts S-12 for 50cc engines. Here is a few picture with different color schemes. Can not find anyone that sells in the USA. Would appreciate any/all help or info. A bit small for you 41% guys but my truck needs to be bigger! CH Model does offer this model in either 70" wingspan or for you that like them "HUGE" they offer the same model in a 94.5" model!

Speedy-Gonzales,
You can e-mail them about the plane and shipping costs; and they will respond quickly. Don't know of a US distributor, but you can order direct and have the plane soon. Shipping costs are a bit steep, but the cost of the plane is NOT, so you come out great on the price for the total deal.
Good luck!

y2k6vette, You are right about ordering direct but..... CH Model only sells direct if you send a wire transfer which has no recourse and is undisputable should item be received as damaged goods or not as described. I have spoke via email to the owner Mr. Chang Hang Li and we are in the process of working something out. Possibly a C.O.D. with a third party bank for holding funds until buyer ( me) releases funds to Bank of China. Chang Huang Technologies ( CH Model ) does not accept Paypal or major credit cards. Nor do they deal direct and the only distributors are in Europe. Too bad....this looks like a very nice model but you cant tell till you open the box! Do you have this model or know of anyone that does? Would like to know more about how it is built and flies.

Speedy-Gonzales,
Thanks for the added info about the purchasing difficulties...I wasn't aware of them; and I would also have some reservations about this type of money transfer.
It would be very helpful if somebody who has purchased and flown one of these bipes would join the discussion and give us some insight......I would be interested in one too.

RE: Who's Pitts Model 12 was that at Joe Nall?
I would urge caution dealing with CHModel. I paid for a sample 88" Yak, to be sent by air, by bank transfer after deciding to accept the risk. The model spec and pictures were impressive as was the price. I was subsequently told by Chang that they had difficulty finishing any Yaks because of the suppliers not being able to send them parts due to poor weather over Chinese New Year. I accomodated the delay and was then told by them that the 200USD I paid for shipping was not sufficient and that he needed to find another shipper. At that point I understandably lost faith and requested a refund, providing bank details for payment. He emailed a response saying he would do this 2 weeks ago. I have not had any replies to my subsequent emails chasing the repayment. He has been poor at replying to emails in general and the written english has been very poor. I'll wait a little longer but am losing hope of seeing my money again. May well be that he is genuine business but at best he seems fairly disorganised and unable to conduct business articulatley.
