WOW, you can not believe the SIZE of this thing until you get it and mock it up to see the size.

I too am impressed with the build and materials, might change out some of the screws/bolts to allen heads?????

Here are a few pics, this is my apartment on my work job.

Not much room after the wings are on........................

I am just finishing my Cub. I wound up with a 3W-75i to mount on it. I should get it in the air this weekend.

I will be using this to take 3 parachute guys to altitude. That is the reason for the engine choice, with 15lbs of cargo the plane needed some extra power!
After I drop the 3 little guys I'll just bring in down on the deck and do some torque rolls!! :-)

Have you ever seen Mac Hodges fly his B 29 after dropping off the X-1?

You might be starting something new

Let us know how the drops go.

PS:
Any info on here on how to pull banners/Flags, etc....

Nice photos Roger i went with 8/32 socket head bolts on the wings thru the tubes , still working on mine , i have a family illness which has kept me from spending any time on mine . I lke the way the hinges are glued in to saves a lot of work and i think they appear to be glued in very well. Good luck

How does this cub compare to the Modeltech 1/3?

I know the modeltech is a little smaller but which one is the better quality

The World Models cub is a much better plane i have had the Model Tech cub and it is the same price but the Model tech does not have the wing tube spars like the World Models cub and it is designed to mount the elevator and rudder servos in the middle of the fuse for CG purpose . The servos mounted in the rear is much easier on the World Models cub and like you said it is much larger in size. The Model Tech cub is covered in 21ST Century fabric which is more authetic but it loosens up after time and also the components are not up to the quality of the World Models. Also parts are easier to get on the World Models.

I have a G-38 Gas Engine. Is this large enough for the 1/3 scale cub?

I would say NO, however I have not flown mine yet with a G62 nor have seen one fly.

Dick Pettit said his flew fine with the 62, Specs call for a 80cc.

Would really think the 38 would be too small for power and weight up front......................

But then what do I know

Chris:
Seeing this model and not Modeltech's, not sure how to answer it.
But what I see of this one, it is not too bad.
I could not build one as good as this, but then I do not build

As said in earlier post...............What do I know

Come up to Moline and see it, while you are there, help me stuff it and see for yourself[8D]

You would have to add a lot of lead to the front of the WM cub to get cg right with g-38 and it wouldnt have enough power to fly it right . I am putting FPE 4.2 at around 5 lbs on mine and hopeing i wont have to add to much weight up front for cg .

Flew my WM 1/3 scale cub last weekend. Power is a old A&M 3.2 with a Zinger 20x10. Weighs in at 28 Lbs. The 3.2 proves to be plenty of power. As others have stated it flys at 1/3 to 1/2 throttle. WM has a winner here for ARF Cub fans. I took 2 days to assemble!

That sounds good, seems like a new G62 (3.8) should be just fine.

PS:
2 days to assemble, maybe I should come to your house instead of Chris's.............

Hows the cubs coming guys? Nice ARF would love to have one some day. Some videos of this thing flying would be great. I wanted to ask how much payload you think this plane could Carry with a strong engine? I have an idea of dropping candy for kids at special events. Iv seen it done with smaller planes but man could you haul some candy with his bird.
