Well, I went out to the Garage last night looked over my edge and decided, The only way to fly this without worrying about crashing all the time. Is to throw it against the garage door, Stomp on it, then CA it back together. So I DiD!!!!!!!

Yah right! I will be flight ready in 14 days, If I can steal the withs credit card one more time!

Lean it out wheely!

I just got my 30% Edge last week . I did alot of research on the
last Lanier edge forum ,and ordered this plane over the other same size A.R.Fs in this size range. After starting the kit I have two quick issues with the plane. First off is the axles they will easily pull out of the threaded mounts with just small effort with two pliers. Second, is the problem with the aft cg I think I will need a seven or eight pound engine to make this plane balance without nose weight and servos installed in the factory positions
any help would be great.............

I used the 3W 75, 4.75lb engine, and used a pull pull setup on the rudder, balanced perfect at 5 1/2", total weight 20lbs 1oz

OK ,this is what I am dealing with. I got a B.M.E 50 last year for a .25% plane and it was really over-powered.and I got over 30#
of thust ffom a 22/10 prop at 7200rpms. So ,I bought the Edge to
balance out the thust to weight ratio...but now the engine is too
light for the plane .Do I sell the B.M.E and buy a ZDZ 80?...I got
the 50 in the plane with no servos and it still is at 6.5 inch back...
and yes ,there is a thing as to much power...Don't ask....

I have a bme 50, its a strong motor, but not up to the task for the lanier edge do to shear size. It would be a good sport flyer, but not unlimited, go with a 70 or 80, just my opinion.

Just trying to shoot it straight with you on the 50, its a great engine for a smaller airframe 16-18lbs. Try a 3W 70, 75, or ZDZ 80, any of the above will be completely unlimited. Mine weighs 20lbs 1oz, and the 3W 70 is stout and torquey. I also used lithiums to cut down on some weight.

Knife, razor is probably right about the 50 being underpowered, However before you scrap the idea and sell the engine. I would go ahead and set it up on the plane. Try it out, at worst case you end up changing the motor and reworking the mounts. Best case your engine will perform. Even better keep the 50 buy the zdz and a gp 300 wagstaff for the 50. You can never have too many planes. LoL
