Darcy,
I'll take all the pics you care to share. I also got the quote, thanks, I did not expect it until tomorrow at the earliest. Please remember this will not happen until Jan 7th, my next payday. I'm thinking this is going to be a blast to do and fly, I'm looking forward to it...

Bubbagates, YEA!!!!!! You are gonna love it! It flys much more like the SX than the 2.6 does. It just has it's own personality,. The SX is just an awesome masterpiece of technology.
Have you laid out all your radio gear and engine stuff? You can have this 2.3 built in no time! It was a very enjoyable build for me, the feel and look of comp-arf planes after having so many balsa planes was refreshing. It looks great all the time, no wrinkles or peeling. One thing about these planes though, they get hangar rash and need to be cared for IMO.

Joe,
I appreciate the words and you are not the first one that has said very similar things to me via PM. I actually just did the quote thing about 1/2 hour ago for purchase after Christmas so in a sense I pulled the plug on a 2.3

RE: Comp-Arf 2.3 with a Brison 3.2
Joe and Darcy,
Here's the current plan for it.
Da50 on the MTW header/can from Comp-Arf
JR8411's on the ailerons and Elevators with H9 Aluminum arms (already have a set of 4 servos/arms in great shape)
Hitech 5955 on the rudder (because I have one left NIB)
Fromeco 2400 for the ignition (have a new one with reg)
Fromeco 4800 for the receiver (have a new one with reg)
2 Fromeco Badger Switches
JR2000 receiver (came out of the Cap when I installed the DX7)
10X for Guidance
PT model 23x8
4 inch Pete's CF spinner
I may change the 8411's to 8611's if you guys think I'd be better off and I probably already know the answer to that one . The engine is going to come out of my well flow 27% GP Cap232 which will get the Brison I was first asking about. and then sold RTF. I'll probably use H9 pro-links since I have a ton of different sizes laying around and will use ball links on the servo arms and the Dubro safety links on the control horns
The DA is over 15 gallons and turns at 23x8 PT Model prop at just about 6800. I do have a PT model 22X8 for the engine as well so I can play there to see what I like the best
One question. For the DA, which standoffs. I have both the 2.5 and 3 inch laying around
I am definitely open for suggestions as I want to do this setup right. Come to think of it I do have a 3W 80xi-CS that is in a WH 33% Edge that I been thinking of replacing with a BME 110 Xtreme that I could stuff in the 2.3 later if I decide I want more
As Aerobob has in his signature "Isn't this a great way to spend money or what..."

Mr. Bubba,
your choices look solid to me. THe 8411 is a great servo and if you have them already, I say use'm!~). The 80 would be insane but heavier. Either way you are in for a good time. I believe the standoff size is 3", DA is just a call away and I am positive Brian Hueffmijer knows the correct size.
If you stick the 80 in yours I might have to stuff a DA100 in one!!!

Guy's
Nobody has mentioned it Yet but the ZDZ 60 or better yet the 80 the new Super Models would really power the 2.3 nice.
Other then the motor having to be very wet to start I have not had any issues with any of my ZDZs.

OK BUbba! That's it!! I'm coming out there!!! With the DA100 I was thinking of clipping the wings and fabricating new tail surfaces., Maybe Ralph can locate an 18x27 prop or double shovel for the front end!~). I think I want to make a new cowl too and fit some sort of retracts. Wakes up, just jokin! you will love this plane as much as PA in the spring, that is one of the most beautiful states I have had the honor of spending time in!
How about a build thread or just some photos?
hey comp-arf, how about a racer based on this plane for all us speed pattern junkies? Yak11 for Da100 or 250 radial?>? awwwwww shucks!

If you guys keep it up, I'm just gonna have to force Joe into sticking a DA100 into his because I'm gonna stuff the 80 in mine...J/K Joe
That is one heck of a range of engines that this thing can handle

I can certainly do a build thread....I'm hoping Darcy can get me the pics he has...
Ah the heck with the puny 8411's/5955's. I'm gonna install 5 Sieko servos on 12 volts each cut out the rudder hinge line, move the elevators front like a Cap, so I can get 90 degree throws both ways, and do 5 foot diameter pin wheels at 2 clicks above idle
Then I'll install that prototype prop reverser I saw on the 80 so I can hover nose down and land/stop in the length of the plane. After that I'll install leading edge slats and vortex generators back from the leading edge and maybe even some stall fences so I can have the elevators drop perfectly straight down.
And NO, I am not going to wake up...I like this dream....
It actually looks like I'll be able to order this thing before Christmas.....

That's great Darcy. We can fly your rocket and my sled over the holidays, he he. I can't wait to do my next build thread. Every time I see "THAT" movie and hear Pearl Jam, it makes me want "THAT" plane so much more. I'll probably have a couple of 40% composite airplanes for sale soon, so I can get two of "THAT" plane he he.

The video of "THAT" plane is in this thread: http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_5102943/tm.htm
It looks like I'm getting one of these. Yes, I'm a very sick individual. It is an addiction, but I can quit any time. Just so happens I won't, I'm not a quitter .

It's a good thing I'm divorced and my kids are all married on on thier own as I would be divorced anyway if I were to pull the plug on this plane as well so soon after buying three GS planes so far this year to the tune of dropping close to $3K on each and that's not including the 2.3m.

Well "That" plane is just a collector for me, i cant see getting it the air to fast, I have so many other projects that are priority. But it will be cool to see Jens fly his with that Monstor Herbi 280cc
Back to the 2.3m thread...
I will fly again today, I am hoping my buddy from XPS can come out and film a flight or two..

Bubba, 2.3 might not be a 50% but I would rather have a 2.3. Watching Jens fly a plane with the 280 was so funny and cool I did not need to duplicate it!~). The 2.3 is a work horse all day, everyday git wit it burn burn burn, while dudes in the pits are comparing sizes you will be improving your flying day in and day out! 2.3 baby! Now I'm itchin to get one again!!! This chistmas sale on the blue with stars is awesome. I could even make little spark plug cap covers for the DA100 so it does not stick out so bad!j/k!
Darcy,
I look forward to your video! Tell Jim to get his plastic here and to free my people!~).

Goekeli,
Oh I understand and I'm just dreaming out the end of my fingers. I'm pretty certain I'll be finalizing the order on the 2.3 in another 8 days instead of early next month.
Darcy,
I look forward to the video. Do you happen to know the weight of yours? I've been pouring over every thread I can find on RCU about this plane. I'll be searching over on FG and FC next.
I'm seeing lots of them with DA50's coming in anywhere from 16.5 pounds to 19lbs instead of the 20 to 22 pounds the web site quotes

RE: Comp-Arf 2.3 with a Brison 3.2
I sent my DA50 from my 2.3 off for service after a tonne of flying with it. It happened to be the same time I picked up my 2.6 Yak, so I stuck the DA100 on the front of it for a joke (to see how it fitted). Looking at this, it's only a matter of time before some crazy fool does it for real! I'd bet you still wouldn't pull the airframe apart even on that set up!
