Default Which Pitts would you like to see in a 100CC ARF version?

[EDITED]
Ok I have changed this forum. Obviously there are no 100cc Pythons or Model 12s available in Arf form as of yet. A couple are in development or may be on the drawing board but thats it. SO in response to Mr Kimballs post I am making this a "wish list / petition" to try to get someone to do this. Please feel free to chime in with any ideas and we will see if we can get a clear picture of what will be marketable. Here are the thing I would vote for in my "Perfect Pitts:"

1. Python - I like the looks of the clipped wing version. I really like the harder edged wingtips

2. I fly mostly IMAC style but I think its very important in todays market to be set up for 3D. I have no problem with this as long as the fuse doesn't get stretched out of proportion like some of the barely recognizable "Extras" out there.

3. I don't fly with cans but I do know that thats a change Bob Trueworthy is making on his new 35% kit because there are a lot of people that need that.

So in summary I am looking for a 3D Python that will accept cans. What do you guys want?

Default RE: 100CC Pitts Model 12???

The Composite ARF Pitts Model 12 is a 150-200cc size plane.

There are only two planes out there now in this size.

www.qqaircraft.com they are producing the python which is a single place canopy version of the model 12

www.bigairplanes.com Bob Trueworthy designed this plane in a 35% size. His is a short kit and not an ARF. It is a beautiful looking plane that will fly on a 100 cc size, but is better suited to a 150.

Hope this helps.

Try taking a look at the BME Aircraft 100cc Ultimate Bi-plane. That is my 1st choice in a 100cc bipe. I too, am looking for a 100cc Pitts Model 12, hopefully a Pitts Python. I know that QQ is coming out with one, but I not too keen on the "Somenized" scheme, But you can bet it will propbably be the best flying one out there when his finally comes out. I have the 50cc QQ Yak and the 100cc QQ yak, both are the BEST flying airplanes in there class for IMAC and especially 3D.

I have seen the BME Ultimate fly. It is an excellent 3D machine.

I am like you. I would LOVE a QQ but its not very good looking. It would be great if he would come out with a Python. I can tell you the QQ's is a VERY slightly modified version of Bob Trustworthy's 41% scaled to a 50CC 100CC and a 150CC+ Maybe someone can get into QQ's ear to make a mainstream scheme option

I talked to him and Wayne at the DOGS show last year and they won't even bring a white or arc version in. I too would prefer an all white or diffrent scheme as QQ is getting well used now. Last I heard though they won't be in till spring if then at all. Seems they keep pushing all their dates back each month.
I don't know about SD as it has a big logo on it and the small one cost quite a bit, the bigger one may be over the top.
I do have one of Bobs short kits for the 40% so at least I have that...

So, just to get things down on a comprehensive list, you guys want a 100cc Pitts Model 12 in the original scheme to be available, right? If yes, as scale as possible or a model 12 with whatever mods are needed to make it 3D as best possible? Which scheme as there are 35 that have flown and about 25 different schemes? If you prefer the python with it's clipped wings, single bubble and other mods, do you want the python scheme on it or a model 12 scheme? Or do you want a model 12 with a python scheme?

As I see it now, there are more than half a dozen model 12 RC versions available now in 3 or 4 different schemes. Some scale, some not. Big ones are available too in both arf and short kits. There are also several versions of foamies out there.

It may be possible to influence a kit manufacturer/supplier enough to get an airframe and scheme you like if the group voice is large enough in numbers. I would imagine most kit makers would love to know there is a large number of potential buyers interested in a certain airplane. I know that is true for me and the full size airplane.

Well I deffinately prefer the Python. I like the clipped wing look. There are 2 schemes that really strike me:
1. They Python Scheme
2. The Oracle Theme (I know Tucker isn't flying it be we can dream can't we?)

So lets start a petition for a 100CC Python in one of those schemes!

OK I HAVE CHANGED THE FORUM FROM THIS POINT. Let the debate begin!

If you do vote please post something to keep the poll at the top of the thread. Also, if you vote for OTHER schemes please indicate what you would like with a description and/or a photo

Pitts Python in the original scheme with all of the sponsor logs as well. Reminded me on a new Art Scholl classic in yellow and black.

I'd like to see a pitts python in the yellow python scheme, or a regular 12 in this orange scheme. Definitley prefer them to be more 3d capable then scale contest winning.
