Guys,

On the Brillelli 60 vs DA50 weights... 6 oz is ALL up difference... engine, muffler, ignition and standoffs...

That is comparing the stock muffler options included on both.

So the Brillelli should build out (all other things equal) ONLY 6 oz heavier all up...

Looks great Chris. Glad to see you came back out with the Yak, a better one at that! I love mine, and will have to get one of these for a backup.
I hope this is a new beginning for you.

Smallfly, I hope to have some of the new Extras before we leave for Toledo in April. I will post pictures and details in the next few weeks.

As far as comparisons to our previous 50cc Yak, this one exhibits the same super lightweight feel of the orignal. It has a slightly longer tail moment which adds to its precision flight abilities and it presents much larger in the air. Like our previous Yak, its 3D capabilities must be experienced to be fully appreciated. I honestly feel that this new Yak and the coming Extra are the best flying planes we have produced to date.

What brand, shape, and size, spinner is that on this picture?

At long last Chris Hinson at Extreme Flight RC has announced their next Giant Scale release: the All New 88" Yak 54

Here are the first few pics I've gotten that show this beauty.

It will be released in the Black and Yellow scheme shown here as well as the Red/White/Black/Silver scheme used on the 74".

Here's a very accurate spreadsheet of many of the 50's and some others.
May be helpful for some in making powerplant choices for this OUTSTANDING airframe!!!!!!!!!!!

A 12" diameter cowl would accomodate a DA100. WOW, this plane is much larger than the previous 87".

yeah, I am in awe of the 12 in cowl. I went walking up to my 87 today and gave it a pat on the head.....poor thing is gonna collect dust.

10 Black and Yellows and ten Red's are whats coming. I reserved one B & Y , better call fast if you want an early one.

Birelli forums here I come. I have a DA , all broken in and recently serviced from last season, so it will be a matter of prop choice and what Chris has to say with his soon to be flown 60 power job. If a 24 x 8 is really needed to get the right "bite" outside that cowl....than so be it.

Is the Birelli Litium ready??/ Better go start reading up.

This is great news.

Why mess with a heavy 100. One could step up to a BME 110, or a ZDZ super 80. How about the famed DA-75!

Most of the work is done by the tips of the prop. I would not worry about the slight breeze caused by the inboard portion.

I scaled the picture, the spinner is exactly 1/3 the width of the cowl. If the cowl is 12 inches were looking at a 4 inch spinner. The spinner looks nice and small. Thats one fat Yak. I love it!

Is anyone thinking 3W 55i? I think it would make a great match. Just food for thought.
I would love to have a Yak but I just am kind of tired of all of the Yaks. I just really want an EXTRA.

If you have an 87' , just go and hold a ruler up to cowl. This is so much bigger , it is going to be a FAT YAK.

My BME 102 weighs just over 4lbs. Man, if I DIDN'T have respect for this , that is how I would disrepect it.

The prop eff is what I want to know more about , how it is calculated and the science behind it, because, for me the only reason to change from the DA's I have , is if it needs a bigger prop.

Is there a Carbon fiber pipe available for a DA50??

Can;t wait for the EF video with Chris at the sticks.

If the first 20 aren't spoken for in the next 2 days I would be very surprised.

E.S.Composites will have a 50-60cc CF Pipe available soon! My ZDZ 40 RV spins a Skoerpa 22x8 with the CF tuned pipe at 7000 rpm static. Great products from Ed, but they are in high demand and he runs a small shop, so there is a waiting period. My 40cc pipe weighs only 3.88oz!

OK OK...
I will buy the yellow/black one
Any pics of the plane from the bottom.

But the EF Vanquish scheme would look awesome on the Yak too.

This time around, I will just go with a Brilleli 60 & light muffler. No more tuned pipes for me...simple, sweet & LOUD !!!

ORIGINAL: EXTREME FLIGHT

{SNIP}...Tailtouch, we will also offer the 74" Yak color scheme on this aircraft, as well as a solid white version, so you can get as creative with your color scheme as you desire. In talking with many customers I find most prefer a color scheme that is not so busy and is somewhat scale in appearance.

Is the Hatch latched already? And is the cowl attachment alignment left to the builder??

Wing attatchment mode, is it the same , one piece quality finger bolt ALA the 87", or was it changed?

A lite CF pipe would be awesome.

The whole idea of the faux motor cover is cool, as long as the motor stays happy , I am sure Chris will let us know if he flys with it or not and if the temp and mixture are acceptable.

Mine will have the KISS setup just like the 87". Minimal , lite, reliable,

For a CF pipe try http://www.escomposites.com/petrol.htm

Ed Skorpea is supposed to be working on one for 50cc

Hatch looks like screws in the side... I see two holes for sure...

For those of you who are interested in the Brillelli 60 for this model, this morning, I received an e-mail from Scott E. In reply to my

question about tuned pipe/canister and header options for the Brillelli 60, he told me that he tested a slightly modified DA-50 header

and tuned pipe on a new 60 this past weekend. He will post some test data after trying different pipe and prop combos.

While I like the looks and specs on the Brillelli 60, I am hoping we here some news on the DA-75. Mo-options, Mo-betta!

And yes, I ordered a red/black/silver striped Yak from Melissa today
