Very nice!

I think no spinner makes it look a bit "stubby".

Chuck
Wrong word, I should have said blunt I like the stubby look. Actually it's not uncommon to see a full scale Yak or Sukhoi without a spinner

As I pulled into my driveway I notice the 3 boxes. I was pumped until I saw the large dent in the fuselage box. I still had hope until I opened it up and the fuse was smashed in on the side. Gotta love UPS. I especially like the large hole directly beside the orange caution sticker.
I tried to explaine to Chris not to put those orange stickers on the boxes. The monkeys that work at UPS see those things and think it means kick throw and crush the package. You think I'm kidding......NOT AT ALL I have watched them do it and laugh as they did. The orange stickers are a dead invitation to them to abuse that box. Heck they get paid so little they just don't care. They are pushed at all times to hurry up and get that truck loaded. The blame goes to the upper management at UPS.

Maybe Chris should put stickers on that say "Mishandle and Abuse Box"! Pretty bad when you can drop one out of the sky and not do this much damage. All of the wood on the canopy is broke off and you can hold each side of the fuse and bend back and forth. I'm hearing that EF is out of these. Do you think he will have a replacement fuse? The wife and kids had to go to Wally World so I could sit home and feel sorry for myself.

I feel for you. When I got mine the first two boxes were the cowl and wings. The wing box had a hole all the way throught the outer and inner box. I held my breath as I opend the box and gezzzzzzzz was I lucky, the wings were perfect. I then took an industrial strenght Xanax and waited for the fuse. box the next day. It was Ao.K. But you....poor dude got really screwed. I know this won't help make you feel any better but Chris will do what ever he can ASAP whenhe can to get you back in busniess.

silly question, what is a faup battery? i am refering to regular hydromax metal hydrides, 6v 2000 packs when i say running 2, and a 1650 on the igntion, i have 2 1950's and a 1650 on my comp arf, 5 flights or so i check with a plane volt watch thingy, not the stick on kind, but one i plug in and it runs led lights up, it will read 60-70% give or take on all 3, i have a quick charge but dont see the need, anyway i hear they drop quicker once they are down below 50%, so thats why i figure 2 2000's would be plenty, and the safety of 2 switches of course, if you have 1 battery with 2 leads, you could still have a cell go bad or some kind of short right? i dont think thats as common as a switch going bad, but i have heard of cells going out, 1 guy in my club had that problem anyway, not sure how common, so i know we talked about batteries a while back, just curious about the faup you guys mentioned in response to me saying 2 2000's...

My boxes were perfect and after fighting with them for an hour to get to the second box I was thinking it would be impossible to accidently damage this plane in shipping. I guess you should never under estimate man's ingenuity.

In case anyone is interested I flew 5 11min flights today using 2 1400 Nimh Intellect packs and a 4.8 1400 ignition pack...I used 230mah's per flight mostly all high-alpha extreme throws etc...I cycled down my packs from 6.3v-6.0v and pulled out 1644 more mahs..so I can easily get 7-8 flights with a good amount in reserve..I was using 120mah's per flight on the ignition..

And for fuel consumption..I used a little less than 1/2 of a 16oz tank with the Brillelli...Mostly at 1/4-1/2 throttle unless i was going vertical..

Josey those graphics look awesome. I have done a lot of business with Brad and he seems to deliver a perfect product everytime. I just got finished with my Panzl and he did a great job on it also.
I have already spoke to him about doing a package for my EF Extra when I get it. Cant wait for them to get here.
Here is a picture of the Panzl if any of you guys care to see some of Brad's other work.

Wow - matches exactly the figures I get for servos and ignition. I use two 1500Mah LiPos and consume between 220 and 240 each for a flight.

cwhite, no worries, we will be able to get you taken are of-if UPS doesn't destroy this one.
It is a catch 22 with the stickers. If I put them on there they will destroy the package for spite, if I don't and they destroy the box then UPS won't pay the claim as they willl say the box wasn't labeled correctly. I can't believe most of the damage is right beside the warning label! That really shows they could care less about delivering the package safely.[:@]

Would something like this help the guys that use a pipe or canister muffler? I guess it's only for 3W's however.

That's pretty much what the flex header is that KS and MTW sells... it comes prewrapped in teflon tape (I think that's what the white stuff is) to seal it...

Sure looks like it would be easier than cutting and welding.

Absolutely... Hre's the one sold for the DA50... it has the flex section already welded, and though this picture doesn't show it, the ones from DA comes with the flex section already wrapped and sealed... just bolt and go... the flex section allows for a small amount of adjustment...

The damage to that box does look like it was done out of spite.

Sad to see such a thing done to so nice of an airframe.

Word on the street is that it is a disgruntled UPS employee that recently purchased an inferior Yak from another source.
I think with in the next few months "Buyers Remorse" will spread thru the inferior Yak community, but for the lucky few 88" owners try not to smile when you fly it only breeds "ENVY!"
