Well at least I have a cowl and 2 wings to look at[:@][:@]

You've got the best part! The cowl on this plane is a work of art! It's an amazing beast. Put it over your head and go around making airplane noises. It will help pass the time till UPS gets the box to you. I once had my CG Pitts shipped from tower to Nashville, to Miami, back to Nashville, back to Miami, then I called them up, told them they were nuts (they agreed), called a guy at the miami terminal, found out what was going on, and then had it shipped back to the nashville terminal then on into BG, KY to my house.

I am astounded that UPS can lose a box that is 68"x20"x14" with fluorescent stickers all over it!

Oh yeah Maudib,

The cowl to fuse stripe on my Red Yak matches perfect. After the first once over I cannot find an imperfection on this ARF.

I will show off some pictures tomorrow at the Festival of Giants in Jacksonville, FL...I am afraid that the pictures may not do justice to what it is in person.

My engine is being delivered tonight I think I have most all the components needed....am not usually a fast builder but this one will likely go faster than others.

Richard

Chris,
Thinking about placing an order, but I am fond of the Don's Hobby Shop coated Kevlar pull pull kits using the Rocket City swivel clevises along with the SWB adjusters. Any problem using this (I have a set here), in lieu of the supplied pull pull hardware?

You better place that order with Chris and worry about what pull pull hardware to use after it arrives, the shipment he's getting in will be sold before they arrive.

Yeah I just confirmed with Chris... the Pull-Pull is setup straight cables (not crossed)... and after a little testing...look like NO rubbing anywhere... sweet!

The Kevlar Pull should be just great if that's that you like.... thoe SWB adjusters are REALLY nice too...

I asked Chris a legitimate question, why respond the way you did? IMHO, Your response has no merit towards the content of this thread at all. Being disabled and on a fixed income did you ever think that perhaps your financial situation is somewhat better than mine? Nuff said, I'll leave.

I recieved all 3 of my boxes today and everything looks great with no damage. There was a hole in the cowl box that I could almost put my hand into but thankfully whatever made the hole missed the cowl.

Hey Olstoney... I don't think Mokken was being facetious... I think he was saying.. if you like the plane... try and get one ordered as even the NEXT shipment (coming in about 10 days or so) already has MOST spoken for... especially if you want a certain shceme... one may go quicker than the other...

Really he was being sortof kind... sometimes a text message can be read with differing meaning than was intended...

It's all good... and so ar EF fans...

And you were worried abotu bringing another Yak to market???? HA! It's an EF baby!

Also I wanted to concur with Chris on the regulated lipos... It wwasn;t until he mentioned it that i realized that it was the same arugument I was using over using a lion vs a 5 cell nicad/nimh.... same speed and torque from the first flight to the last...

And really we have all the power we need on them at 6 volts... especially with the 333 oz in 5955's

SoCalSal, we have a second shipment arriving around March 10. If you are interested in getting one please contact us ASAP at 770-887-1794 as most of these are spoken for.
The next shipment will be in May.

Got the pull-pull setup with the SWB 4" offset arm... freakin SWEET! One of the FEW pull-pulls that was tight "first time" gotta love it!

I followed the manual exact, but added a little shrink tube over the crimp/loops to "purdify it"...

Witht he Spektrum DX7 set to full ATV... I get maximum throw! Perfect... I'm getting full resolution!

I used the SWB adjusters on my 87" ....they are nice, but uneccesary. After intial stretch re-adjsutment, you will never touch them again.

My Yak is scheduled for Monday delivery...hopefully all three boxes..LOL.

AWesome build thread Maudib, and Yes...looking at the REd LED while standing at the nose is best. I won't ever have a gasser without one.

I have had sunlight false it, when the canopy was off, and bright sunlight got to the transmitter connector at Juuuuust the right angle . Black nail polish solved it.

Whirly are you comig to the dome tonite...or are you building your baby??? PM Me.

It's here and the box's look like they are in pretty damn good shape. I'll look it over after I get back from dinner.

I like the led in the cowl also. No doubt if it is hot or not when you go to prop it over.

One little mod...

I noticed when I squeezed the pull-pull wires together even a little, the rudder tray would flex some... so I made a "tie-in" plate that tied the upper tray to the lower former...

Put a hole in it for lightening and to run the rudder lead through and used a piece of 1/4" squar stock in the upper corner for extra gluing surface...

Again... just a personal preference... the plate wieghs almost nothing and they tray flexes a good bit less...

Also on the the wires... here's a pic of how SWEET they line up where they need to go... NICE design and CADwork Chris and Mike!

Hey Whirley,

Congrats on your new plane...I put my name on the list today. Hopefully I have better luck with it than I did with my Aero-works Yak.
