I have no sence of what the numbers should even be. I know last year it did just a hair over 7k on the break in prop.
(22x8)
50cc and big gas stuff in general is still kind of new to me.
I pulled it into a high hover and did a couple torque rolls. It felt like the throttle was below half.

1 click of left aileron and about 9 clicks of up elevator had it flying pretty straight. Looking at it, the leading edge of the elevator is somewhere between a 1/16 and 1/8 of an inch off from the leading edge of the stab. CG was about 1/4 in behind the center of the tube.
I had a blast flying it, but I'm just your average weekend warrior.

RE: Extreme Flight 88" Yak - Build and Fly
A great day of flying today. Sky was overcast which made it hard to see for all of us.
First flight of the day was dedicated to small trim changes and letting others have there hands on the sticks.
Second flight was given up to our local 3d expert. To say the lest he was excited about the performance of this plane. He was trilling that plane all over the sky for 25 min. had to tap him on the shoulder to remind him that we might be entering into the no fuel zone. I took control and brought it in for landing. Augghhh…..! Wheel fell off just as the plane was almost stopped. Plane nosed over and broke my new prop. Luckily was able to scrounge up some wheel collars from a guy. Last time I trust those darn C clips. Had a spare prop so changed that out.
Ya back up in the air. No sharing for this flight. Spare prop did not perform as well so I just flew it around and just started to feel the plane out a little…LOVE IT!
Last flight same thing. Flight was cut short due to that darn liquid sunshine. Darn sky was was harsh on the eyes any ways.
Cant wait till the time. Things are really starting to feel good. I have very little fear with this plane, and that’s a little scary in it self.

Nah, it just means your comfortable with it. Because it feels THAT good.
This plane inspires confidence, because it is so stable and locked in.

Mustang,
I think I'm still a bit on the rich side. Next time out I will re peak it.
Zoomer,
I felt the same way. I did'nt even get the first flight knee knocks with this one. The more they cost, the more my knees tend to knock, on this one, you would have thought I was flying a foamie.

Well it looks like I will be getting one (still sweet talking the wife!) I might have to give her my 74in yak[:'(] to get it. But I talked to Scott at Brilleli today and he said the Brillelli 50 I have should do fine. He said he has a couple guys spinng a 22X8 Bolly 7600 with it so I think I will be calling Chris. Man he is just hurting my bank account lately I guess I will need to change my screenname to Yak Addict I have the 68in still 2 of the 47in the 74in and now the 88in if I am lucky. Chris should give me a volume discount LOL!

I had my buddy shoot some video today. I guess it turned out OK. I was a little nervous, as this was the first time trying this low stuff with my first gasser.

Are you using the PSP axles and the C clip fell off?

Red high temp RTV works great for this.
It can form a gasket and lock the bolts properly in a manner that still allows you to remove them.

I used the DA gasket for my DA-50 installed with red locktite. During 40 hours of flight the muffler came loose twice when the screws backed out.
Ralph at RC ingintions highly recommends the Permatex Ultra Copper gasket maker sealent. He says that over time the density of the factory gasket may change (heat cycles I guess) and that is when the bolts can uncheck.
A tube is about 8 bucks and will last for many many gaskets on this size engine.
I use it on my G-62 and so far so great with 16 hours of operation.
Now for the bad news, no flying today as the honeydo's are accumulating.

sorry guys, just to digress again from subject.
i bought the slimline pits muffler for my da50.
the instructions in the muffler said to use high temp sealant round the exhaust port instead of the gasket that came with the engine.
just wondered if thats ok or should i use the gasket.

RE: Extreme Flight 88" Yak - Build and Fly
Just an FYI guys...
On the EF site, Chris has updates the news...
An excerpt says:
I am also awaiting delivery of the final production sample of our new 104 inch 100cc Yak-54. Like the 88 inch Yak, this one is HUGE compared to other offerings currently available and presents in the air like a 40% aircraft. It possesses all of the amazing flight characteristics of the 88 inch version and flies the slowest down lines I have ever seen. Look for this one to be available this Fall.
We debuted our new 88.5 inch 50cc Extra 300 at Toledo. This is the latest in our series of ‘extra large” 50cc offerings and is sure to be a hit within the aerobatic community. Our prototype with a DA-50 is 16 lbs and is an amazing performer. You can see this plane on the fight line and in action at the Joe Nall. More specs and videos coming soon. (Expecting shipment around end of summer)
So there you have it a somewhat formal announcement of a 104" Yak... I expect this will be a blown up version of this 88" (with proper 10cc design elements of course) but offering that huge size... I think Chris told me the cowl was 13.5" in diameter!

One of my friends who is a wizard at setting thrust angles uses ply washers of various thicknesses for this task. He uses washers as thin as 1/64" to "fine tune" the angle. Since he routinely uses these ply washers on 40% Cardens I wouldn't hesitate to use them on your Yak when a metal washer is too thick...
