Oh Dick gets some strange looks alright, but it is not because of his airplane hauling methods

I also get the question--
what if it rains?
answer
I don't fly in the rain
question
what if someone runs into you ?
answer
they get to buy a Subaru and a 42% Radiocraft
In Utah , the guy who runs into you from behind is at fault - no matter what .

I love the answer to all the questions, especially the 3rd one

off subject -
one of our remaining GOOD laws is the "failure to keep a sharp lookout" provision
so unless you are driving at night -the brake light issue is a non issue.
we did have an old farmer up north ,who let his cows wander onto a 55mph state road -and he knew it was happening
eventually , a lady hit one -at night - and the driver and cow were killed .
The farmer was held culpable because he had previous knowledge the cows could and did wander onto the road.

RE: Pull a 5x8 enclosed trailer with a car?
I pulled my 5x5x12 enclosed trailer behind my 84 honda acord at sea level and 5000ft elevation with no problems other than the hills.
It would slow down to ~45-50 then. Brakes held out fine. did this for over 8 years with no problems.
Stock car, stick and brakes, the hitch i custom made to go to the center cross beam where the back axle center pivot point
was. Did not have extra oil cooler for transaxle or engine, did not overheat any time during the years of use.
I did plan on brake action a little early, it will not stop on a dime with the trailer behind. I had ~ 200lbs of tongue weight.

I have a 6x10 aero-express trailer that I pull with my Maxima....works great, light weight
The guy that had it before me towed it with a 4cyl Subaru with great results.

That trailer design is great for models -first -it allows a full rear view . secondly in white it reflects heat - in early 90's I had a custom made one much like that -with double walls -and white fluted aluminum skin.
It would stay cool inside even in 100f heat and with the wheels and axle I used - trailed perfectly behind my then new 93 Sable Wagon.

dgfick,
Nicde rig. do you think it might hold two 50CC's and a 100CC bird?

With stabs off and stagger the gear it wouldn't be a problem at all. When I got it there was a wing rack that hung down. I had to pull it out because my 40% was too tall, but I bet depending how tall the 100cc was you'd be able to have the wing rack on top. With a little care 2-40% could be hauled with it. The trailer is perfect for 2-35% or combination of smaller planes. Like I said earlier this trailer is perfect for towing with a car. I would suggest though that you use those little concave passing mirrors on your side view mirrors as it is 6' wide.

old- stripped out Coleman camping trailers also work --lots of old crap like that around
offer to haul it off n fix it up.

Alternativly find yourself a scrap van or estate car, cut the front off and weld in a tow bar, I did this years ago with a Austin Mini Van as it was so small I could see over the top of it form inside the car, the mini was ideal for this as it was front wheel drive and had a seperate rear subframe for the running gear so you just welded a draw bar too the subframe, I am sure there must be something suitable in the US also, just bigger.

RE: Pull a 5x8 enclosed trailer with a car?
My dad towed a 3500 pound boat with an '86 dodge caravan with a 4cyl, I am sure a newish accord could easily handle a trailer for short distances.
