Sorry, I did not know it was already posted on horizon's web site and yes it is the 260. I got to say horizon will be selling a lot of these.

I was really leaning towards a QQ Python Bipe but at $200 less and with H9 quality I think it's an easy decision.
The H9 scheme is a heck of a lot nicer than the Q'sters.
I should see both this weekend.

Funny how we are always guessing and speculating which plane will be the new hot ticket. Last year it was the Yak. Everyone had to have a Yak. I think they are ugly.
Looks like the new hot plane is the Extra 260. [8D] I think they look okay. I haven't flown a 260 yet. Would sure like to give it a go.

I do too. I'm just a little wierd when it comes to how they look. [:-] I don't like the Sukhoi or Yak because of the big round cowl. I know, everyone says they fly great. I just can't bring myself to buy one.

$1500.00 bucks is a little on the steep side i think........ecspeacially since it's going to be a "Mass produced" airplane. Hell that's a little steep for a 35% being sold anywhere. I think H9 can put out some good quality stuff don't get me wrong.........but i wonder how well she's built , and if she's light? Guess we'll find out soon enough.

It looks like the H9 is a clone of Mike McConville's Carden 40% 260 Extra that was built by Brian Hueffmeier in 2005.
If it flies as good as a Carden those Chinese won't be able to make em' fast enough.
The Carden
The H9

$800-$1000 is the standard price for a 100cc 35% ARF.
The other H9 planes were smaller 33% planes thus the lower price & don't forget that the price of a Carden 35% KIT is one grand.

However, $50 more than an Aero-works and 1 - 3 pounds heavier doesn't really sound that appealing to me.

RE: New H9 35% plane!
The Aeroworks is 1867 sq inch wing area and the Hangar9 is 2003 sq inch wing area, making the Hangar9 approximately 7% larger, so the wing-loading is about equal. The local hobby store here sells Hangar9 product, so I would not have to pay shipping on the Hangar9, where as the aeroworks adds another $189 in shipping cost. I really like the covering scheme on the new Hangar9 Extra 260 and this is going to the top of my list for my next airplane. (Of course pending some flight reports later this summer)

What do you want another Yak to add to the 50 other ones out there or an Edge? The 4 big ones are , Yak, Cap, Edge, and Extra... not sure whatelse you expect

RE: New H9 35% plane!
What I would like to see is more maunfacturers come out with ARC models. Nothing dissapoints me more than showing up at a flying event with my pride and joy and there are 2 or 3 identical to mine already there or arrive later. I bought a Great Planes Giant Aeromaster ARC and now have the opportunity to do two things...a) see how well it is built and make any changes while I have access to the inside of the plane without stripping the covering and...... b) come up with my own eye pleasing design and cover it with what ever material I chose to do. I think a lot of guys would love to cover their own planes, hence why I think more people should come with ARC models!

ARCs dont sell as well as ARFs, thats why you dont see them.... if you want a unique one that bad, youll have to strip it, or add to it... check out www.bmeaircraft.com they sell some arcs.. or did..
