man is it hurting things that much?
It started by asking what was needed for this plane. If a thread gets a bit off topic it's not the end of the world. [:'(]
I love posts like that

RE: Extreme Flight RC 104 inch 100cc Yak-54 sneak peek
I'm back I had a very productive trip. The 58 inch Extra and 50cc Extra are in production and should ship late August. Final details for the 104 inch Yak were completed and production will begin immediately after the Extras. I expect to see them in November. We also worked on the 123" Extra 300 and a sample is being shipped over on our next container so we may begin flight testing.
We have done our best with the 104" Yak to accomodate a wide variety of engines. I have another sample coming over which I am planning to put a DA-85 and pipe in just to see if it will balance. I feel this combination could result in a 25-26 lb. plane and if it will balance this could be an awesome combination. From what I hear the DA-85 on a pipe will keep up with the 100. I'll keep you guys posted on the results.
As far as the Yak looking like a Sukhoi, I just don't see it. It is the same outline as the 88 inch Yak, only bigger.
Also, in addition to the yellow/black/silver and red/white/black/silver color schemes we will get a few of the 104 inch Yaks in the color scheme of our original 68 and 87 inch Yaks-blue/white/red/yellow.

Researching that now. Any ideas? I know ES doesn't make one this size at this time, but maybe we can convince them to do so since so many of us are into running pipes these days.

Chris,
Are there pipe tunnels or canister tunnels? Is there a difference? I have a DA-100 and could perhaps use 2 KS-1060 pipes on this plane. Are tuned pipes a silly idea for a twin?
PS -- please put me down for one with the original 87" color scheme.

Galen, the Yak has a tunnel that will accomodate both canisters and tuned pipes. Tuned pipes are an excellent idea for a twin. The ES carbon pipes would be really trick and weigh just a little more than the stock exhaust, not to mention being whisper quiet.
I just sent an email to ES Composites about producing a pipe for the new 85cc. Anyone else interested please send Ed an email and lets see if we can get him to do it.

Welcome back, Chris. Sounds like you had a successful trip.
I am on the list for the 104" Yak. Put me down for the original 87" scheme.
Thank you,
Paul Claeys

Chris r u trying to supply the kit with c/f gear and tubes?
any thing else ie tank, or basically the stuff u did for the 88'?
my reply back about checking on the c/F pipe
Hi Gerald,
I'm afraid, it won't happen any time soon. I just can't come up with realistic price and I don't want to move production to Asia (skiing is damn good here in Utah).
Regards,
Ed

Josey, still waiting to confirm price on the landing gear. Expect it to be in line with other similar size aircraft like the H9 260 and AW Yak and 260.
I am leaving tomorrow for vacation and will be back in the office Monday August 13. We are closing up shop for the week, for the first time since we opened our doors in 2002. Our on-line store will still be open and we will process all orders as soon as we return. You guys who are regular contributors to the EF threads, please pass this info along if anyone posts that they are unable to reach us next week.
Thanks guys!
