Nice looking pilot.
I did a fiberglass canopy to save weight, so no pilot for me. Also plan to make a new cowling, the stock one is great, but i think a little over builded. My da85 should show up next week, along with a couple of servos.
I am going to install 2 5945 or one 5955 per wing. Do you think one 5955 will be a good choice instead of the 5945?
Trying to save all the weight I can.

I think the 5955 servos are great servos and will work fine. The 5945's will work also but I think you would want two per aleron if you go with them. I'm holding out for the 7955's. I've got them on back order and delivery is expected some time in March. I'd use at least an 8711 on the rudder, or two 5955's.

Hey Steve,
Thanks for the advice. I just recived two 5955 and one jr8711 for rudder. I made the slots for the wing servos, two per wing, but I will try only one 5955 at first, so i will make a third servo slot. In case It don´t work properly, I can put 2 servos.
I also looked at the 7955, but I don´t think I can wait. Anyway, the 5955 servos are great.
Also I get the sd 33%yak LG, very light, just 200gr or 7oz. I need to cut it in two halfes, and the height is almost the same as the stock LG.
One question, what is the distance between F2 and the spinner backplate?. The manual I get have 2 numbers, 28 and 30 cm. I plan to install the enigne 1 or 2 inches foward, for a better balance.

Vacaman,
Mine is set up at 12 and 1/8 inches from F2, or 6 and 1/8 inches from F1 (firewall). Hope this helps. I don't have my metric tape with me at the moment so I cant give you the cm. Sounds like you will have things covered if you need two!

Got some covering done on the fuse last night. Just the yellow for now.

42% is a little bigger than I'm capable of right now. Are they Extra's?

Looks like that Yak flys excellent! How many rudder servos did you use in the Yak? Maybe some day I'll be set up for the big ones. A larger cargo trailer is definatly on the list for the future.

Here are a couple more photos of the progres so far. I still have the canopy and paint to do. I used a 48" ruler to cut 70" pieces of Monokote, and that makes for some not so strait lines at times. But I think now I can venture to more complex patterns, I hope!!

Steve,
Great job on a great looking airplane. Can't wait to see it.

I'm coming along pretty good on my plane too. Slow....but steady. I should have it done in a week or two.

Looking forward to seeing ya soon. Status of 12Z?

Thanks
Barry

Great job with the covering Steve!

And as far as flying when its snowing is concerned I do have a nice photo of my
27% Colombo Anderson from last winter.

One of the worst weathers I have flown in but it went fairly ok. Now that I'm
thinking of it you must be crazy to go out flying in such a weather...

Yep. I have two planes with skis on them right now. But I don't try and fly unless its above 35* or so. It's just too cold when its below freezing!! I have a photo or two in my gallery of some winter fun.
