RE: Kimball-Somenzini Python Build Thread
ORIGINAL: bluelevel
I am also interested in getting a Python but I'm not sure if it fits in my car. I also have a 88'' Extremeflight YAK which has about the same fuselage length, but unfortunately this baby only fits in my station wagon with the horizontal stabs being taken off. Since the Python doesn't have this option I was thinking of making the elevator control surfaces detachable by sliding a wire through the hinges. The rudder is no problem at all because this will be slided between the front seats and sit on my arm rest.
To be able to make a decision, would anybody please be so kind to measure two dimensions for me:
1.)
to the trailling edge of the elevator being fully deflected?
2.)
cone to the trailling edge of the horizontal stabs? (Assumed that the elevator control surface would removable)
Best regards in advance
Thomas

@SoCalSal
I don't mind using a TruTurn spinner as well, so I'd be glad if you could measure these two values for me with that type of spinner.
Regards from Germany

RE: Kimball-Somenzini Python Build Thread
Hi fishdeth,
Like you I am just getting around to my Python (had to sell stuff to make room )
Have you guys noticed that the wing spar is about .25" too long on top wing? No biggie, just don't want to trim one if I overlooked something.

RE: Kimball-Somenzini Python Build Thread
I have had mine all mocked up and did not notice any problem with wing tubes.
Shine a light in the wing receiver tubes and see if there is an obstruction or something.....
