Spectra/Dynema For Pull-Pull?
Hi, I'm setting up a 26cc Extra ARF. I've used cable for the rudder pull pull setup before, but was wondering if anyone has tried using spectra/dyneema. This is the stuff used for high performance fishing lines. I was thinking of using 80 -100lb. test.
I've used the thinner stuff very successfully in smaller glow engine planes with no problems and was wondering if there were any issues that may arise with use in a larger gas powerred plane. Pros would be zero stretch, lighter weight, no chance of generating RF noise etc. Possibly, this may be a little less durable, but from my experience fishing with it, spectra/dynema is pretty tough stuff.
Thanks.

Thanks, tail dragger. I've got Kevlar too, though I understand all three are very similar and I believe that Spectra is just another name for Kevlar.
Will give it a go and see what happens.

Not sure if it's the same or similar formula but I've tried Spiderwire and a few other braided "super lines" for flying wires and tail brace wires and as long as they don't rub on anything they do well but I've had them break if they rub or vibrate against something. I think their resistance to abrasion might be suspect.
