Thanks Lee. Still trying to get the throttle curve dialed in. Getting closer though.
I just got to get a little braver with this plane. Something about a big plane 10 feet from the ground still seems to rattle me.

RE: Extreme Flight 110" 100cc Yak 54 Build!
anybody hear of a bcm unitized muffler? here is some pics of one and some regular pipe mufflers, zdz sells them for the 100, these are from the 80 twin, but its the same style, i dont have any specs like weight or anything, just curious about them, i know in a car you use a "H" pipe or "X" pipe to give better low end torque, and it helps draw exhaust gasses out from the other side, not sure if you get any of those benefits with this one? my other question is how much cowl did you guys with a da and stock pipes have to cut out? just for the tube or did you have to cut some for the "barrel", any pics? i was thinking if this muffler sticks out to far forward id hate to have to cut more cowl out, but it looks like it may sit back further than the stock pipes, anyway its $5 more than the stock pipes, i have yet to call zdz to get there opinions, i figured id start with you guys, looks kinda cool, but if its heavier and needs more cut out, than id rather spend that $5 for my "one to go" shot of yager next friday evening before heading home after dinner at the local tavern

Got my new wing panel the other week (awesome service from EF and Freestyle-RC) and have now applied the final graphics. Looks sweet; hope those waiting for this awesome machine get theirs in the near future - it will be worth the wait

The DA ignition consumes about 80mah per flight on a 50cc and about 100mah on a 100cc - So an 1100mah A123 pack is enough for about 6-7 flights without having to deal with it.
If one needs to fly more (never happened) the battery can be charged in 5min.

thanks, my buddy who flies big twins said to get at least a 1700 or so, so that sounds good 1700-2000 should be plenty for the day, i do bring a charger with me anyway, but getting 5 flights or so safely without charging is a good deal

I have a Kroma100 twin. Am using the A 123 racing battery, 6.6V. Am using 140 mah/flight.

i was curious about battery for ignition, on my 60 i have a 1650 6v metlhydryd, on my 80 i got a 2000mah only cause i got some from tower and hydomax doesnt make a 1650 anymore, my buddy says thats overkill, but it doenst way that much more than a 1650, so anyway, this will be my 1st twin, does it use the same amount of battery?, seems i am getting around 200-300 mah per flight on both my single engines, that sound about right? will a twin be any different?

RE: Extreme Flight 110" 100cc Yak 54 Build!
Alright. I have been threatened with loss of custody of my 110" Yak by many in the group. Well, I have reformed my ways. I will try to make up for my short-comings and provide an adequate home and loving care for this BIG, beautiful bird.
Now, it's a little off topic, BUT, it kinda explains why the Yak was quietly resting in storage all summer and FINALLY, came out today, the third day of fall. To do the plane justice, I had to build a house that had a little room for they toys. And a little room for the man as well. It's an 855 sq. ft garage, which is still apparently barely enough, even without the truck or trailer in there. Several pics are self explanatory. The yellow/gold room with the high ceiling is my great room with 20 ft ceilings. I see micro r/c's in my future! The blue room is my man-cave over the garage.

I pulled the Yak out today. I had removed the external shipping box and discarded that several weeks ago when I brought the plane out of the storage unit. The wood frame around the actual shipping box is nicely done and the plane is perfect. It is REALLY big compared to the 88" Yak. I always thought that was a nice sized plane and realized how MUCH bigger this one really is. I've never had a 33% plane, much less one that is almost as big as 40% planes.
It is nice to see the airframe components are matched. My airframe is #0056. This is stamped on all the components and labeled on the boxes. I forgot to take a picture of the gear. It is airfoiled CF and is a work of art. The track is about as wide as the 88", but it is a couple of inches taller. I took a picture of the 88" wing and wing tube against the 110" for comparison.

More. I have a picture of my buddy's chihuahua in my 88". I think I could get my beagle in the 110". The included PilotX has a black head mold to get the visor for the painted head. Took me a minute to figure it out, since I hadn't unpacked the actual pilot figure before I pulled the visor/head out. I forgot to take a picture of the stabs. They come in their own little stab bag. I took a picture of the stab tube and stab inner face showing the matching numbers. The rudder is 24" tall.
Thanks for your patience. I am sure many of you would have loved to have this plane this summer. I fully expected to have it flying by now. But, I think everyone of you would have grabbed the plane if you had gotten the email as well. Doubt I will have the plane at the Atlanta Huckfest, BUT, you never know. I don't have this massive home build as an all consuming task anymore. Just as a quickie build-fix, I put together a PA Extra 260 electric this weekend. Should be a fun little flyer. I live across the street from an actual residential airport. I can fly electrics there in the evenings without annoying anyone. Can't say that about the gassers.

Doug,
Looks like you have as good of taste in motorcycles as airplanes. I have rode BMW's for years. Have you been to the Georgia Mountain Rally?

RE: Extreme Flight 110" 100cc Yak 54 Build!
you know sometimes i like to compare specs with other planes to ef, probably not fair to other companies, but i was looking at the gp extra they have out now, similar span and fuse length, but 10lbs heaveir, 10 pounds, thats amazing to me, i know gp stuff isnt know for top of the line, but its also not real bad either, there planes usually fly half-way decent, so i can only imagine how well this thing must fly if a similar size plane can be 10lbs heavier...im still working on getting mine, i have had some interest in my 88yak i am trying to sell, a few local which is the way to go instead of shipping, anyway, sooner or later i am going to order the 110 even if my 88 doenst go, the tucson shootout is coming up soon, thats at my club, so i may make a flyer up for my 88 and stick on the bathroom door(every must go eventually, haha), i am not sure if i can bring it there to set out, have to check with my club pres., there is vendors there and i am sure they are paying to set up a booth, so mine might not be allowed to be sitting out like that, unless i put it back by the parking area or something, anyway, i will get one sometime soon, and 10 pounds, wow

I sent in my roll call for the 2 meter Vanquish, hope this will not be as delayed as this bird has been....
I guess they have a excuse though,,
You can't fault them when a hurricaine hits your city...

I know there's nothing they want more than to have these planes in stock for everyone. All I can say is the 110" Yak is well worth the wait, and if you do wait you will be rewarded with an awesome flying plane and even better support.
