well if anyone cares the 26-10N worked out excellent on the 80cc in my sdyak, i picked up 200rpm from the menz 26-10, i imagine it will help keep the motor cooler with less load, and still pulls that plane around like a rocket ship, so it will be between the 27-10 and standard 26-10 for the big yak, i may not even drill the 26, if the 27 works out maybe i can return the 26, i want to take some measurements with my calipers compared to the N and see how much differnce there is, if 1/16 or less i most likely wont mess with it, if 1/8 or more it may be worth trying i dont know,
hey cams maybe if the 27 doesnt overly impress me we can "swap" for a week for the thin, you try the standard, itd be worth paying shipping even if 2 times(one to send you regular, then thin back) before buying a thin not knowing what it will do, i even have a old backplate from a cone that had the one center bolt, so no matter how your prop is drilled if it wont line up with my cf spinner holes, i can use that one for a spacer kinda thing, it weighs close enough to my cf spinner with backplate that cg wont be messed up much. anyway was a thought i had, im hoping to try the props this coming weekend but may not find time to get out[&o]....props are do in wens according to shipping numbers, we'll see

Hello all, I am just about to balance my Yak. Just wondering if any of you were able to balance the plane at the wing tips, or do I have to balance it at the fuse? If I can balance it at the tips, what is the measurement?

Thanks

I have a question about the canopy/hatch. The photos on the EF website shows no floor, instrument panel, or pilot. I assumed they were biult like that to sabe the wieght. The photos from Toledo show a cockpit with pilot. My question is how does the stock plane come? With or without cockpit.

They come with the floor, dash and pilot but not installed so you have the option.

well the 26-10 regular worked out to be my favorite, turned about 6700 which suprised me casue that was the same as the narrow version but this one was pulling way more, id say it was very close to the vess as fas as performance, so givin that its quiter, smoother and looks wicked on there, it will be my prop from now on, the 27-10 dropped to around 6350 or so, it was noticabley slower in flight, and way slower to climb out from a sustained hover, it may work for imac but i see no need for it now, the 26 will do everything i want it to do, so i may ask some local guys if they want the 27, or maybe just keep in the bag for a while, maybe after a few more gallons it would pick up some, but im happy with the 26 for sure

Since my plastic louver cracked I figured Id try and make a baffle out of 1/8" balsa..Only thing left to do is glue it in. Not the prettiest but hopefully it does the job.

Nice baffle. I've seen a couple guys at our field take some screen material and cover the front of the baffle then paint black. It had a nice textured look to it ... simple and effective.

That looks pretty nice actually. Balsa makes a great baffle material.

I've been running them for about a year in my planes. On my 110" I have 2 2300's running the entire plane. One pack with a single deans output to a power expander. The second battery I have two deans outputs- 1 to the power expander for radio redundancy and the other to a Badger switch and then on to the ignition. I'm using the 921 rx and for the radio using the pin switch that connects to the P.E. Using roughly 300 mAh from each on a 13 minute flight. I fly 3-4 times and then re-charge.

Here is how I fixed the louver cracking problem. Don't know if it has been mentioned here yet or not. I removed the black paint from the louvers. Once you get it going you can use painters tape to stick on the paint and peel it off. I then painted it with Pactra R/C paint on the back side. Next I took some .5oz fiberglass cloth and some epoxy. I glassed the back side of the louver cover. So far no cracks. The original one would have cracked by now.

The originator of this thread, flyin hawaiian, recommended glassing these louvers a long time ago. I did my 88" Yak and it's held up really well.

PS: Has anyone heard from Flyin Hawaiian?

I kind of thought so. He was a good pilot and had good suggestions such as glassing the louver plate.
