Hello,

I originally wanted the Red and White Yak because I felt it would be the most visible but at the time all that was available was the Yellow and Black. I now also own 2 of the Red and White Yaks and while they are quite visible I find that for my eyes that the Yellow and Black shows up just as well and it just looks so good in person has become my favorite. I just ordered 2- 88" Yaks in the Yellow and Black. It is just personal preference but to me the Yellow and Black is my favorite.

I also just pulled the trigger my yak 110 is otw also. went with original scheme since they have no idea when the yellow and black will be in stock. Actually my wife talked me into getting it now rather than wait.. Good wife huh
To be honest I think the yellow and black doesn't look as good in person as it does in the photos. It also was harder to see in the air than I thought it would be.

Joe,

I am really glad that there are people that like the other schemes..that leaves more Yellow and Black Yaks for me! (grin) It is really hard to go wrong with any of them but if I put them in order I would rank them:

1. Yellow and Black
2. Red, White and Silver
3. Russian Thunder
4. The original scheme.

Yeah we totally balance out the demand. That way both of us get our favorite colors.

To the Extreme Flight rep.........

When I ordered my 110" Yak yesterday, Curtis was supposed to send me a link to your local vinyl cutter that does the graphics on your Yak. This plane is too nice not to splurge and get them, so could you post the url to his business here. I'm sure some of the other guys would like to have it as well.

Thanks,

What is the distance from the fire wall to the back of the spinner plate? I have a RCS 90 single and it has the carburator in the rear......looking for a plane it would fit! Thanks, Henry

I'm too lazy to go out to the shop and measure it tonight.....6&5/8 rings a bell. ExtremeFlights' website has the manual on line. Thor.

7.5"

A DA-100 is 6.5" and requires a 1" spacer.

Keith,

You're welcome to come look at mine.

I'm partial to the original scheme myself. I've had 5 EF Yaks that color over the last 3-4 years. I've also had the Red/White and it's a very close second. My friend has the Russian Thunder and I've flown it several times. I like all of them but I guess that I would rank them like Joe did. I've flown a yellow and black one several time and it's easy to see in the air also.

i love the yellow black, my 88 was that color too, ifi could have afforded the 110 while i still owned the 88 i was going to get the original scheme just to be different, but since i sold the 88 i got the 110 in y/b, im glad i did, i love it, and i think its one of the most visible schemes ive owed in the air, i can see it no matter what angle im at or what the clouds are doing...

joe when i used locktite on the collars i had an even harder time getting them off, i used blue, removabel my *****, ended up dremeling them to cut them off, so now i put a dab of clear silicon over the screw when done, i just tried that fuel tube thing too and i like that, i used to put a dap of silicon on the axle, same principle...

I haven't had problems getting mine out with the blue. Maybe yours was a little stronger fresher than my batch...not sure. But if that dab of silicone keeps them in then, why not. There's lots of glues that make good thread locker.

Diamondave,

When dealing with adhesives such as loctite and especially with epoxies, you can greatly reduce the strength of the bond with heat. A hot air paint stripper, a hot hair dryer or careful application of a bic lighter if you are debonding metals should do the trick on those wheel collars. The quick cure epoxies such as the 5 minute are very sensitive to heat so you can soften those up quite easily if you want to use that instead of the Loctite. I am using the blue Loctite on my collars with the same dremeled flat spot and I can usually get my collars off without heat but with heat I have never had one I could not remove.

Diamond Dave,

I was originally worried about the black underbelly being hard to see but it just is not a problem for me either. In fact I think that my Y/B is as easy to see as my Red and White scheme and it just looks awesome to me..very classy.

Taildragger,

Yes, I think that is says a lot about the EF Yaks that there is a waiting list. There is a waiting list for the 88" Yaks as well.
Quality, Price, Availability...we can have two of the three I guess and since Quality is important to me, then if I have to wait a while then I'll wait! I sure would not want to see the quality drop to shorten the waiting time and I am sure that Extreme Flight is doing what they can to put out a great product as fast as they can for a reasonable price.

James

I would say their sales exceeds the production. That just tells you how good these planes are.. It's worth the wait..Trust me!

got my new cylinder up and running, about a handfull of flights, got it running good, no leaks, now i just need to deal with the mess again until i break it in, still waiting on my jteck muffs, so the tbm ones are back on, i may leave them on for most of the break in, then put the jtecks and see what happens
