I'm getting anxious to fly. Weather is getting better. Maybe 3-4 weeks we'll be able to get to the flying field.
I'm gonna start finishing my Edge this week. Also, gonna polish the dust off the 110 and 88 and get them ready.
Gonna be a fun year.....well maybe.
thanks
Barry

I think you'll really like this plane.
What color combo did you get?
Engine?
Set up?
Inquiring minds want to know....well, I'd like to know.
Thanks

Hey Barry,
I got the Russian Thunder. For my set up,I have an old version hardly run DA 100 and I'll be running it on some kind of Tuned Pipes, either ES Composites,or RE3's. I'll be using a JR 12ch rx.with the dual power leads, and 7955's on everything except for the rudder that will be a 7990 for now and maybe switching over to dual 7955's if it seems needed. Planning on running 2 2s lipos for rx power and just a 4.8v on ignition and a smart fly optical ignition kill. For the graphics I was thinking about doing it up in the scale Embry Riddle scheme with a couple of JR,Da,extreme flight etc.graphics thrown on.. It's going to be a slow build, since I don't have all the stuff yet.
One thing I noticed on my Russian Thunder scheme, they changed the colors on the bottom of the wing. Instead of just being silver like the first EF yaks,it looks kinda like the USA flag with a blue field on the leading edge with red and white stripes going from the LE to the TE. I'll get some pics up tomorrow,I'm going to bed !!

Cya,
Frank...

frank did you say those stripes are on the tail too? man i got to say i love that, so much so i wouldnt mind getting one myself, maybe give up the pipe dream i have of ever being able to afford the big extra and just get another one of these, maybe set it up for imac right from the start, like 1.25 arms in stead of 1.5, go with pipes for noise, crap like that ya know, then use my current one to come up with some kind of freestyle routine, thatd be cool, just not sure how much, if any, it would help my imac carreer, hehe, unless it flies straighter than mine, which is a possibility since mine did have incidence off and something still doenst seem right with my stabs

Hey Frank. I just left some pic's over on FG of mine. It arrived today less the cowling box. Sounds like the shipping company lost it somewhere. So I have no cowling either. []

The plane looks awesome though. Amazing quality. Perfect covering. Everything fits perfectly. I didn't even know you got yours until Dave told me over on FG.

Setup will be DA-120 stock muff's, 4x7955 ailerons, 2x7950 elevators, 1x7980 rudder. 2xFASST 8 channel receivers, 2x2300 A123, 2x badger switch with remote pin switch option. The plane will be split in half with no connection between the two receivers. rudder on one rx, throttle on the other rx. Optical ignition kill and throttle will be on opposite rx's. Oh yeah 2300 A123 on ignition via the optical kill.

I usually spend more time over on FG. My cowling box was pretty trashed.. I wonder if the same company shipped mine as well as yours? Maybe I got your smashed cowl by mistake?haha!!

Any Idea of what graphics your going with? I'm still thinking full scale Embry Riddle scheme.but might just go with the EF factory or just leave it bare? I have a bunch of time to worry about that yet..

My outer wing box had a big gash in it but I was thrilled when I opened the inner box. Immaculate wings. I have a theory that the shipping company trashed the cowling box so bad they hid it so they could say it's lost....lol. But who knows really. I have no idea. Extreme Flight takes care of me so I have no worries. That's why I buy my planes from them.

I have the same dilemma with graphics. The wing graphics are so nice that I may not do anything on them. Maybe on the white spot on the rudder and other spots. Like you I have lots of time to figure that out. Whatever it is, it'll be simple...less is more.

Holy crap. I was wondering what that box was for when I saw it earlier in the thread. Yeah that's a good sized dent. My 88's 1st cowling was caved in pretty bad too. The next one was perfect.

Here's my wing box. You can clearly see they stacked stuff on top of this box...inches away from the sticker "Do not stack". And there was a nasty tear in the box, but the wings were in perfect condition. The fuse box was in really good condtion...and so was everything in it.

I can't wait to have it flying. I gotta get busy though. Right now I'm getting my 88" Extra ready for a club friend who's coming over this afternoon to pick it up. I don't really want to sell it but I need the money for this 110 project and I have only so much time to fly and maintain my planes. Also only so much room. These things take up space!

Ah,I'm selling my 88" Airframe with a few servos also! I worked OT today(Sat.) and am pretty beat,so I'll be doing minimal work on my 110 today. My friend is also finished with College and coming back up from Virginia. He also has a 110"in the red, wht, blk colors,so we'll get to fly them together this summer ! He's alot younger then me so he's a much better flyer too. I'll let him fly mine and I'll take pics and just say it's me flying !!!
