Falcon,

With the headers set properly, apart from the extra power, they feel like a muffler setup. No peakiness at all. No need for a throttle curve for torquerolls.

Thanks Branwell, looks like MTW's for me. Now I just have to sell the KS1060's and EsComposites

Hi Falcon,

Just to be clear.

I have the MTW RE2's and the KS 1060. Iprefer the 1060's. I find them to sound better, lies "zingy" and have a smoother transition in the powerband.

hello Branwell

Perfect. What header length are you running. Better yet what brand header. This just got easier. For some reason I thought you were running the MTW's. I do not want "zingy"

Falcon,

And it gets even better.

The headers are the standard MTW flex headers from Desert.
They are 11.25" as I measure them and with a .5 gap in the coupler, are perfect for the DA100L and 1060s. No need to braze on extensions. This assumes you want to use one of the following props.

Vess 28A
Vess 28B
Mejzlik 28-10 ( this is the max thrust prop for this setup )
Mejzlik 25-12 3B
PT 28-10 ( good compromise between thrust and noise )
NX 28-10

If you want to use heaver load props like...

Menz 28-10
NX 27-10
Mejzlik 26-12 3B
etc

You will need to add an inch to the headers.

If you are trying to find an initial CG, place the batteries in the fuse with the plane ready to fly minus fuel and see if it balances. If not, move them until it does.

Once you have a flight on it, move them some more until its as you like it.

How do the 3.5" wheels look? The smallest I've seen anyone run were 4.5".

Hi,

I've had 4.5" and 4" wheels on it. The smaller 3.5"s don't seem to present any problems and I fly of grass fields including one that is unimproved, i.e. a mowed field with no rolling or other preparations.

Best,

Branwell

Hello, I am wondering if anyone crossed the rudder wires? I did not and I do not have tightness when going from side to side.
