I'm going to try a CRRC 40cc Kit engine. I put it together and have about 90 minutes on the test stand and it sounds good. See how it holds up..

CG is 118mm 0r 4.25" from the leading edge, at the fuselage. You will want to balance it inverted.

The manual list's throws at 20 degrees for aileron and elevator, and 30 degrees rudder for "common flying".
40 degrees aileron and elevator, and 45 degrees rudder for 3D.

Not a problem. I'm subscribed to this forum, so when someone post's, I get an email. Makes response time better, with out having to check the forum at all. Any more questions, just ask. If I, or no one else in this thread has the answer, I'm sure we can get it

Got the elevators finished. Nothing to note there. Pretty standard installation. All electronics in, and plane is balanced. Had to put all batteries up front to get it in balance. Ended up 1/8" past recommended, but didnt want to move my batteries any farther forward. I always like more tail heavy than recommended anyways. 1/8 on this plane will be nothing. I'm sure I'll move it back more too. Dry weight is 13lbs 3 oz. Not too bad considering I'm running a dual lipo set up for the receiver and servo's with the smartfly power system. And I did not even try to save weight. I'm sure I can knock at least a pound off if I need to. I'll get some more pics outside tomorrow when I fire her up for the 1st time. The balance picture is hands off too!! Just dont breath All I have left to do before flying is rig flight controls.

Set up all flight controls, and ran the SPE 43 today. At first, could not get the carb to draw fuel, took it apart, flushed everything out with my fuel pump, got the diaphragms wet with fuel, (thanks for jinxing me James) put it back together, and she started on the 2nd flip. Runs like a top. Factory low needle setting seemed to be a little lean for transition. Forgot to tach the Vess 21A prop on it, will get that later. Cant fly today, family picnic. Gonna be sick, and fly tomorrow We will hopefully get a video also. Got some outside pictures.

sorry bud didn't mean to.just be glad you wasn't in my shoes trying to get it running when it was 20 degrees outside for over an hour and refusing to go inside untill she produced some smoke. that plane looks great by the way, am eager to hear a flight report.{actually read a flight report but anyways}[&:] it looks real nice.

No, was 65 degrees, and there happened to be a small air bubble in the fuel line that I noticed was not moving toward the carb. Was a dead give away. Start attempt to actual run was about 15 min. The carb comes apart and back together pretty quick.

Thanks, I like it too Its definately the best looking plane I have.

Got the maiden flight in today. Was way too windy, should not have done the 1st flight in those conditions, but could not wait. 20-25 mph with gusting. So was not able to get the full feel of it today. Got enough feel to tell no trims were needed, thrust angle is good, and this plane is going to rock. I didnt want to put this video up, but to be fair, it was the maiden flight, and I wanted to show that not much fine tuning will be needed right out of the box. A gust of wind hit and went when I was landing, just enough to stall her, fell right out of the air on me, no damage. so here it is. http://www.rcuvideos.com/item/9KGTVZ1TMHTG7SXK/received

I picked up my son's Edge Saturday, I like it, it seams to be a rather nice plane,, I am working on the Elevator's Hinges,, I have to say I'm not at all impressed with the Hinges,,
I hate it when a manufacture make's such a nice plane then skimps on something like the Hinges, it just adds hours to the building time..

The only issues I had with the hinges were, there was one hole that was a touch loose, but a little extra epoxy fixed that, and the inboard pin on each stab had to be sanded a little shorter so they didnt hit the stab tube. So really, no issues at all. Not sure what you mean by skimp on hinges, they appear to be standard robard, or equivelent pin hinges. I had 45 min. to an hour hinging the entire plane. Alot of that was putting the vaseline on the pivot points, and mixing epoxy

no they are not Robard brand, and they are not equivalent,,

many of them are stiff, but with an half hour of work I got some loosen up, still got more to do,,

I'm not saying I don't like the plane, cause I do like it..

Well I have got my one all put together, As to the hinges I must of been lucky as the model shop I purchased mine from had included enough packets of Robart Hinges to replace the ones that came with it but as far as I can see the orignal ones seem ok.
Just a matter of interest I am using a Futaba setup What Futaba servo would you recommend? as up to now I have only flown war birds where you do not need such high torque servos.
