newb needs help
Hi all,
Just picked me up a 34% Extra 300 that has everything but a receiver and batteries in it. I plan on running 2 7.4V lipo's so i know i'll need a regulator. Which one and what else will i need? Power box? It has 6 Hitec 5645's on ail. and elev. 5645 on rudder and a 311 on throttle. TME smoke sytem as well which i have never had or used a smoke system. Lookinf forward to finally having a BIG bird to fly IMAC and eventually 3D. Thanks for your help!

RE: newb needs help
I would go Nimh batteries or A123's and forget the lipos.
I run Two 6V 2700mah Nimh batteries in both my 35%ers.
Well proven and easy charging.
If I change I will go A123, I have only heard good things about them.
And you won't need any regulators with these batteries.

i second the a123 batts, and would also consider a IBEF from TBM and elimanate the need for a separate battery for the ignition, and it also allows you to rid the servo for the choke and go mechanical. sweet thing about the 123s no need to to drain the power for storage and the fear of fire. and they charge fast and last!

Just don't forget A123's need a charger that will charge A123's batteries.
I haven't changed over since my Nimh packs work great and I already have a charger.
When / if I do changer I will need to buy batteries and chargers and it will be a $$ change over since I have three batteries in each plane that would become A123's.
I would keep Nimh packs on the smoke systems, no need to change them to A123's.
