RE: Extreme Flight 110

i found out something interesting today with my wolverine switch, i always new it had 2 switches and they were seperate, what i didnt know was it shares the battery juice after the switches are on, i finally set up a 2nd reciever in my plane cause i had an extra and figured why not be extra safe, well after setting it all up and splitting ele and ail to one side, i threw the switch, just one out of 2, and both recievers powered on, i double checked everything to see if i had a short or forgot to undo a Y or something, but nope is seperate one batt lead in each reciever, so i looked up the switch and it talks about sharing feature, so i think everything is set up correctly and thats the way its supposed to work, i tried to call them but they are closed until monday, anyway with just 1 reciever i never noticed it cause 1 switch would turn the plane on not matter what, well even 2 recievers 1 switch turns the entire plane on too, so now if one batt goes i still have both recievers, kinda cool, another benfit i was never aware of

still haven't figured this out. yes i did try a y still same result. i ordered another servo should be in next week. ill post results thanks. someone said its pcm all together that i should go to 2.4. even though 2.4 is good and all and plan on getting it oneday. the lag was not there using same receiver on another plane using jr 8411.

RE: Extreme Flight 110

Maybe you can program the speed in the hitec servo programmer? I've never had to do this myself.

diamondave 01-30-2010 08:39 AM

RE: Extreme Flight 110

you can program the speed but like you said you shouldnt have to, i had an issue with mine on the 1st few flights i would get a slight roll when doing a wall or popping into a hover, i thought my ele were even by eye, then did the stick trick and saw they were off, i redid the linkages to make sure they were even, from arm on servo to length of rod, it did correct it, was 85% better, then once that was good i did some flight testing for letteral balance of plane, power off dives with pull outs and stall tests, added weight to light wing until no drop doing either manuever, now i got to say this is by far the most balanced and true plane ive ever flown...but back to the servo thing it was my set up, if 1 arm is off a tooth and the other is off a tooth in the other direction, they wont be matched no matter what you do with linkages.....but last resort if all else fails you can adjust the speed of the faster servo, you cant speed the slow one up, you can only slow down the faster one....honestly if your not noticing it in any manuever you try in the air i would not mess with speed of servos

RE: Extreme Flight 110

Guys,

need some advice. I am nearly up to the engine install, DL-111. I have everything for the plane except the exhaust. I have Xoar 27/10 and 28/10 props for it but can get a 3 blade if I have to. The noise restriction at my field is 91dB measured 25 feet from the centerline of the plane, averaged right and left sides. Should I use MTW TD 75 canisters or would RE-2 pipes be just as quiet? Or something else? I dont want to make a $500 investment and then fail the sound test.

Thanks,
David

Thanks guys! I am running a 3W-110CS. Just a couple things left to do before the maiden. We are actually building 3 identical ones that we are going to be using for a show team. The other 2 should be done in the next couple of weeks.

I thought it was a full scale runway or taxiway behind you in the first picture, but now I see it is a model airplane runway.

I am using a DA100L with DA mufflers. I would like to convert to tuned pipes. What is the proper header drop when using tuned pipes?

Header drop is 50mm. I got my RE2 pipes from DA. I wouldnt use DA again, the sales dude was incredibly unhelpful; then it took 7 weeks to send them instead of the one week they kept telling me whenever I called and then they sent me single pipe mounts instead of the double I ordered. Finally got it maidened, love the plane.

RE: Extreme Flight 110

Sorry for the delay on your order. The headers come out of Germany and its out of our control as to when they ship to us. There was a mixup on the pipe mounts on our end which we promplty sent the correct ones overnight at our expense.

Fantastic! Those tail numbers would come in handy for formation flying. How did you decide who got to be #1 haha. I thought my club field was good, yours kicks *ss.

Tony Russo of DA - thanks for your response. You are right that you did quickly overnight me the double pipe mounts after I called. The overall experience was just not what I was expecting, considering the good name you have in the industry.

</div><div>Won't be my first 100+ airplane, nor the first time I've used the intended setup or equipment...so no shocks or worries there.  Just want to know if there's any common "tricks" for the bird. :)</div><div>

Follow the manual, that simple. (I am being serious too.) PM me with any questions as I wrote the manual and been flying this plane for over 2 years.
