What will you cover it with?  Plastic or cloth?  I have been having nice luck with 100% Polyester dress lining; same as Koverall.  $4 a yard x 42".

Its going to be covered in cloth ..I'm still up in the air on what form it will be. I used century 21 on my F24 fairchild 6 years ago but I have hear its not the same anymore..So I'm going with other.I do Paint work and Fiberglass work so painting is not a problem..

Well the beat goes on..I have fit some build time in with yard ,jeep ,car ,truck and house time.. the summer heat is brutal ...Got the engine and tank mounts made up and installed. the throttle servo is getting read to go in .. takes time to make every thing and then fill it full of holes,,to get as light as I can,, NOT AN ARF..!! Love them ARF> builders< ... elevator ,rudder, servo mount,,,. the rudder servo will mount on top the elev, servos on bottom,,the rudder exits on top of stab like the full scale. the elev. control push rods and mounting are on bottom of stab..fuel tank is easy to get to here and will be under removable bottom plate . still making cross supports for wire mounts..

Well after lots of looking and thinking about the weight and power .I have made a trade for a real nice 3w-75i rear intake, now i have a good prop choice and plenty power for nice flight..thanks to Kent in NC for the trade...Had to make some spacers and do some mods but only day loss..the Pitts muff is coming fro Aircraft international and is a slimline.. about 6 to 8 OZ light than the Johnson muff.

The tail wheel was fun to try and keep the profile of the se5 but it looks OK and will make it easy on the ground handling..

The front tractor grill and pipes are now good to go and easy to remove for engine access.. made as much air in as i can with out killing the structure..to remove the engine the front comes off and the cowl.

I have completed a 1/3 busa Pup recently.

My friend has one that is basically framed up. We have been considering bashing it into a camel ...but we have been looking at three views, and your build. We are thinking we might turn the Pup into a Se5a. It won't be dead scale of course, but there is a lot in common that we think can make a very passable fun scale plane.

We need to project the Se5a image up on the plans, and see where we need to change some things..

I hope you get the time and drive to work on yours this winter.. It will be fun to watch any developments.

Forgot to say...it's 1/3d scale and has a G-62 which gives scale like flight but nothing extra!

I've had the plane for more than 12 years so I'm not positive but I think he's an "Aces of Iron" guy. Mitch

Well its been a wild time for the Xmas time and new year, Have been getting some build time in with the cooler weather.. Yep its 78deg, today and will get some work done..i got the bad news that Doug Smith littered the fling field with the B-17 at 12 o'clock high fly in. Was a good run! Have some pixs of the SE5 so see here..still getting the wires up to snuff but going good ..I was trying to have for the Deland fly in but maybe too soon..

Oh ..I was told that the B-17 left a 200ft ++ balsa and parts line..the catch fence stopped most of the big parts from getting in to spectators .. I heard it may have had a elevator fail..12 Years and 500 flights so no warranty! should have got the most scale award..

Well the beat goes on..Been up to it all including bike week..race week..Got to start the covering. Had to make a handy dandy stand ..used the rc sailboat style of stand..easy to make and works great..folds up flat..using Solartex..and it really works easy on the wing tips..
the glue is good and did the dope thinned down to seal it down.. looks scale.tail feathers are covered and ready to be glued on..
