Default Warbirds

Hi All,
I am wondering if a Stearman painted in army colors is considered a warbird. What do you think? Would a Stearman be accepted at a warbird fly in?

As is an AT-6. Both are military trainers. Other trainers also qualify.

If an aircraft was actually used in military service, or inventory, it's a warbird.

I agree with Terry 100% here but there are other folks who insist that the term "warbird" only covers aircraft used in combat roles. As usual the answer depends on your point of view and is much debated. However, I think that just about any event billed as a "warbird only" event would gladly accept a Stearman in military paint.

Does anyone know what is the actual oracover film and paint used by Thunder Tiger for their .60 Military Bearcat ARF? It is some sort of dark gloss blue, but I need to know exactly what the color of covering and paint....

Thanks....

Thanks guys,
I am considering going to the Blacksheep Squadron Warbird Fly In this Sat with my Ziroli Stearman. I just wanted to make sure I would not be out of place. Thanks for the responces.

None of those hot shot warbird pilots in their P51s would have made it very far without the ol' Stearman to teach them how to fly! It deserves a place of honor at any warbird fly in.

It is my understanding that the more difficult to fly AT-6 was the advanced trainer for the P-51. After the Stearman.
