Default Pilot RC 47% Decathlon

Anyone have this plane? if so how do you like it (built quality, etc) and what engines are you using. I was thinking a 170cc Desert Aircraft would be a good fit....

Here's a pic of one:

I too have been looking at this plane. Saw several at Joe Nall this year and went through them carefully. They are built well. I didn't see anything I didn't like. But, the 47% is flippin huge. I noticed it looked impossilbe for one person to put the plane together as the wings are so massive one guy can't handle the wing getting it into the wing tube and securing the fuselage. Covering job was top notch and plastic windows etc. were thick. Hinges were nicely done and landing gear had robust plating in the fuse. Like I said, nothing I could see wrong with them except that you might need a NASCAR pit crew to assemble it! Jerry.

Yeah it does seem like a bear of an aircraft to assemble/store/transport, but from what I've seen they're nice in the air.

Nice quality, I have an early one. They are built much lighter now. The DA or DLE 170 will be plenty of power,,,,, the ZDZ 210 works well too.

Yeah I think this is going to be my next plane, it seems great. I've flown RC and full sized Decathlons and love them.

I have one with a ZDZ 210 ..Flys really nice...Decent Vert. Weighs 73lbs all up with 64oz each smoke and gas... Build is pretty easy...More running wiring than anything else......Very few problems with the kit as provided....It can be a pain to put together 1 person...but there is a trick to it.
