RE: 1/3 BUSA Super Cub Build
My control pushrods on the rest of the plane will be Carbon Fiber so I will order the connecters to do the throttle linkage out of carbon fiber as well.

Ron,
You might want to check but I think carbon fiber may also be a conductor. As close as you are Sullivan type pushrods (tube within a tube) may work for you.

Hey Ron, I like the direct connection (one, actually two less failure points) but I agree that a heavy duty nylon servo arm would insulate the servo from any metal to metal RF problems. I will get some pictures of my attempt at scale flaps and ailerons try to post them soon.

RE: 1/3 BUSA Super Cub Build
This is my first attempt at a "scale" plane. I might enter a Scale Masters event this summer so I thought that I would try to do some the the full scale details. I found a full scale Supercub that I could go and take a bunch of photos of and I bought a set of the complete factory drawing from Northland Aircraft. Using the full scale flap drawing I redrew the BUSA flaps so that I could use the full scale type of hinges in the scale location. The plane I am copying is a PA-18A model. This was a factory cropduster and for ease of loading the hopper Piper made the back fuselage deck flat. I have modified my fuse accordingly.

Ron,
Probably an RCU problem since their site has been a little unstable lately.

LT, the scale Flaps are very cool, you need to be sharing this build more often with us.
Did you put a doubler inside your back glass frame? I thought about doing this. I would like to hear your thoughts on that.

Tony, I read a post last week that the site managers are getting ready to re-launch RCU and that alot of the original work was just patched together. So the RCU I.T. folks are trying to clean up errors and thus creating new problems. The post said another couple months and it should be better than ever.

The fuselage is getting a little awkward to move around without dinging somthing. After the tail group is on I think I will build a rotating stand. I got the Idea from Tony Hallo. Pictures were hijacked from his thread.

I'm following your build with a lot of interest. I've started on one also.

Thats the way it is done for a full scale plane. I used an engine stand on the forward end of my Piper Clipper when I recovered it. 360 degrees of rotation.

Hi Ron:
I'm bulding the Balsa USA Super Cubslowly!
Iused those covers on my 1/4 scale J3 and they looked great.
Spend some time exploring "The Cub Den", it's avery informativesite.

Rudder Servo Location: I made an educated guess that I will need tail weight with the GT 80 Twin engine so I decided on mounting the rudder servo near the tail. I will build a bottom hatch for access.
