Default question about Wms. Bros wheels

I seem to remember that years ago they used to make a round foam tube that you inserted into the large Williams Bros.Vintage Weels to stiffen up the rubber a bit.Am i remembering this correctly?? I have a heavy SE-5 with the Williams Bros wheels (about 6 5/8 size??) and they are getting squashed, flat spots from the weight.Lowe's has some 3/4" round foam in long lengths that might work but not sure. Can you take off and on a Williams Bros tire?
Anyone with a good memory? thanks,Dave

As I remember it, Robart was the mfg with the foam inserts.

The older Williams Bros wheels would sag under weight. I believe that the newer versions have some sort of insert to prevent this.

In any event, your question can be answered by contacting Williams Bros, here: http://www.williamsbrothersmodelproducts.com/

It took me a bit more than a few minutes, as the mobil mechanic showed up to replace the starter on my car!! Happily, it gave up here in our carport! The new owner of Williams Bros. products is Daniel Brett. Email him at [email protected]. He's the "horses mouth" on the products. I worked with him to develop a new wheel size for 60 sized models.
