Default 30cc - mini servo IN stab???

Hey guys

I was thinking of, instead of mounting standard servos on the outside of the fuse, by the tail (where most 30ccs put them for elevator), cutting a hole and putting a mini servo in the stab.

I know moving them back witll shift CG, but the minis are less than half the weight of the standards, so I think that will even out (hitec 225mg is my plan).

do you think this would work ok? Here is a shot of what I plan on doing.

I was going to cut it open and glue ina plywood frame and recover.

Do you think having the servo there would interfere with the airfoil of the elevator?

I would worry about the structural strength of the stab if you cut into it for a servo mount. 30 sized stabs are not very large. Add to that, mini servos, even the higher torque metal geared ones, are not noted for being rugged servos. Vibration can kill them in short order. The standard sized servos of the types commonly used for giant scale applications have a reputation for reliability and I would stick with them if it were my airplane. Whats wrong with the fuselage mounting location anyway?

Just asthetics. They would be hidden from the top/side view. I think they are an eyesore there
