Plane suggestion for an Enya VT-240
Hi,
I have an Enya VT-240 looking for a plane, any suggestions as to what airframe would do the engine justice?
Thanks,
Cormac.

RE: Plane suggestion for an Enya VT-240
Lots of planes out there that can use it.
What type of plane do you like?
Here is one in a WW I Albatros DVa

It can fit in round cowl planes. Stay away from narrow nose planes like P-51's
I think a plane that will show off the engine would be best!
I'm going to use mine in a Snider Cup type Sea Plane.
A 1/3 scale Piper Cub might work with the engine inverted and the jugs sticking out the sides of the cowl at 45° angles with the pipes going down the sides.
The engine sounds best at 1/4 to 1/2 throttle so chose a plane that is not a speed demon.

Mine , before I got it, had flown in #1 possition on a Ziroli DC3, a Ziroli Corsair (flew very good and sounded great). I purchased it and put it up front of a 1/4 Fleet and it just loved it.
Now, it is slatted for a TF giant Coursair.

Hi Guys,
Thanks for the ideas, I would like to see the engine as much as possible, it does not need to be scale.
Thanks!

A Midwest Giant Sweet'N Low Stick would be great also.

I found some pix.
Peeking thru the faux Kinner you'll see the VT 240. Until I built in some baffling, the engine wanted to run hot. Cured when I opened up the cowl and flow directors to the cylinders.

Guys,
Anyone got a spare one lying around for sale? I'd love to get one.
This is a pic VT240 in a shortened nose on a T240.
Cormac this might suit what you are looking for.

Is it possible for you to tell me the setting of the airbleed adjustment screws on the VT-240 carbs? My VT-240 airbleed setting is still at 50% open and the idle is too marginal even with a glo driver. The weather here in New Jersey is lousy and I will not have a chance to test the engine for some time to come.
Hope to hear from you,
Jim Meighan

Members,
I have solved my airbleed issue with the Enya VT-240 engine. With the airbleed adjustment screws set to 2 1/2 ccw, my idle is now 1.2 K rpm and the max is 6.5 K rpm. I'm utilizing a 20-8 Classic prop with 20-20 fuel with a glo driver keep alive for idle.
FYI,

Another plane just begging for a VT-240 along with some additional dummy cylinders. In 1/4 Scale, of course.
