Chipmunk: What brand is it?
I just bought a Super Chipmunk with a 82" foamcore wing, built up fuselage, and 2 man cockpit. They didn't have the canopy so I'm trying to figure out who's kit this came from. Several can be ruled out due to the foam core wing. Ideas? Thanks

RE: Chipmunk: What brand is it?
Its possible... but only if OMP has changed Ohio RC's wing over to foam; the original Ohio RC Chipmunk is built up (ribs etc). I have one that's still flying; wngspan measures about 82".

Kit was well thought out...strong... but builds on the heavy side. Landing gear wire struts (later replaced) were not tempered properly (soft)... Enjoyed it though...

RE: Chipmunk: What brand is it?
Foam-core wings were very popular replacement parts in the mid and late '80s for many all wood kits of that era. It very well could be a kit from Ohio R/C that someone
crashed and repaired or felt it would save build time by using the foam wing.
That Ohio kit was very popular twenty + years ago. If it's a Super Chipmunk with an 82" (clipped) wing, then I would suggest ordering from Fiberglass Specialties the one for the Ohio R/C kit. It should fit fine.
On the other hand if your wing is 82" standard (unclipped) then the scale might not match.
They are very good flying models in any case.
Good luck and have fun!
