I wanted to ask the same, but I already asked two questions and didn't want to look like I was interrogating him. Lol.

Yes Steve I do have some wheel pants for it. Need to get them fit and painted first though.

Kevin, not a lot of experience flying 3D.

Don't fret the 3D flying Vincent, in many ways it is much easier than normal flight.

Plus, you don't have to set the 3D rates right away. That can be set up as a gentle flier and work up to 3D flight. It will be a wonderful flying airplane.

A simple, yet elegant, pain scheme.

Well done, Vincent !

Good luck on the maiden.

Oh No, said Private Ryan! Not another one! Poor private Ryan, he sat in the corner all alone wondering when his turn would come to finally be able to stretch his wings and soar. Mr. Spacewalker snickered, "your just too pretty Ryan, to ever be able to fly" thats right, said Mr. Edge, besides you are so old fashioned looking and your engine is so small, not like my big DA; and he roared loudly just to prove his point. Poor Ryan, he tried not to cry but a small drop of oil could be seen driping from his cowl as he suffered under the tawnting of the other planes; "Ryan is a hanger queen, Ryan is a hanger queen" poor, poor Ryan

OMG, Cliff I laughed so hard I think I woke everyone up this morning...after the laughter subsided though I thought I heard a noise in the basement, so I gently opened the door and this is what I heard:

"It's good to be the queen, I'm still so shiny and new. You both may be flying but are those scratches I see on you! Yes, it's good to be the queen my skin is still so silky and smooth without all that oil and grass I'll always be the fountain of youth..."

It's fun to visit here, I need a good laugh now and again, could life be getting a bit boring this time of year as builds wind down so they can get wound back up with a new one. Time will tell.

I think I watched too much Thomas the Tank Engine when my son was little Glad to brighten ya'lls day. These threads are always so much fun, and without all the school boy sand kicking going on. I get inspired to do more on my next build and not just cheap out to just get it done. But you got to fly that queen at least once there Vinny.

Ok, today was a very special day for me. Why you ask? It was important because today I got to maiden my Edge!

I was happy that my girlfriend (Marianne) wanted to come with and witness the event. She was a real trooper because we arrived at the field around 10:00 am and we left around 4:30pm! My Edge was very cooperative and it started within a few flips of the prop. After a few tweeks on the high and low speed adjustments and she was good for her maiden flight. I don't want to give anyone the impression that I maidened her, because I didn't, I left that up to one of the best pilots I have ever seen, Cody Wojcik. Do yourself a favor and Google his name to bear witness of his amazing piloting skills. I know what you're thinking, did I fly my Edge, yes I did, but only after Cody had it trimmed properly. Thanks Cody, it flew great!

It's just short of a year before I started this project, and to bring it to fruition and watch my hard work leave the field and take to the air left me speechless and very proud. It flew very well and with some more Expo adjustments, I think I found my new go to plane. I won't lie and tell you that this was an easy build, because it wasn't, but if you stick with it you will be rewarded with an awesome flying plane.

In case you're wondering if I broke in the engine before I maidened her, the answer is no. As I said, once the engine started and I had a reliable idle with good transition it goes in the air...I always break my engines in the air while flying, so here are some photos that I hope you will all enjoy.

I will be writing an epilogue soon and it will include all of the manufacture products and their web sites.

Looks good Vinvent. Well done.

I never run a new engine on the ground any more than I have to either. Once I have a reliable idle and a good transition, it's in the air.

Awesome VJ. Congrats. Don't it feel oh so good to watch all your hard work and effort pay off? You'll enjoy that for years and years. I learned a lot too watching you build it. Thank you for taking the time to share it with us.

Poor private Ryan...... Nice job Vinny and it looks like you have a sweet field. I'll be heading up your way the Thursday after labor day, perhaps I'll bring a plane with me.

Wow, that's not flying, that's trying to break the airplane or make the pilot sick. Amazing.
