No man it did not cause me any problems. The issue I have with it is that it was posted inappropriately. So as I stated earlier. Feel free to comment on my P-47 build but we will not be entertaining any solicitations unless you want to donate to my project. Ok? Thanks

You don't OWN the forum, you are just the one who started it, and you seem to be one of those types of persons who LOOK for something to complain about.

Enough with the nonsense Pilotdude. You posted on the forum that I started. True I dont own it. However it is YOU who posted on the forum I started about a P-47 build. I am in no way obligated to pass along YOUR so called service. Now go troll elsewhere. If this continues I guess the next thing is to contact a moderator. Your call.

I did not ask for your solicitation. It is unwelcome here and I would appreciate you take it somewhere else. I don't need a response from you. I just need you to leave.

Back to the Subject of this thread. Built the aft wing skins. Then laid out the lower main spar. Trimmed it to 1/16" past the root for later joining and trimming. Installed a 1/8" piece of balsa under rib 12 per the plans. Then dry fitted all the ribs. Ensured that all ribs are against the building board and then commenced glueing the ribs per the manual. As I am glueing the ribs I am checking the tabs for flatness. All is good. Then glued on the leading edge per the manual. That was fun. Haha. After all of that and rechecking for flatness against the building board. I then epoxied the forward spar joiner ply to the main spars and of course rechecked that all tabs are flat and the wing is warp free. Currently there are no issues and I dont anticipate there to be any.

Here are the pictures of today's progress. More to follow.

Next order of business is to glue the forward .5 ribs to the joiner. I am going to let the epoxy cure overnight then start again in the morning. Till then

You don't need to "pass it along", just let other people see it and make their own decision if they want to help out or not. All you had to do is ignore it. There is no reason for it to be "unwelcome here", unless you are jealous of someone who might be able to
make a bit of money helping other folks out.

Lifer:
Thanks for asking I am enclosing a picture from the manual that shows the dimensions and the wood is Basswood. It is sandwiched with two pieces then beveled from the midspan out to just one main spar.

While I was at it I went ahead and epoxied the aft main spar joiner and prepped rib 1 for installation in the morning.

More to come

Corsair:
Thanks, I am aware of the issue with the one pice prop adapter. I will have to see if my prop hub will fit on the original shaft. If it does then I will re-install. If not, I am not sure of what I will need to do, to get the hub to fit. Any suggestions?

Thanks

Corsair and all:
Went and got my original prop shaft and my hub. put it together and it fits. So I will remove the one piece prop adapter and re-install the original prop shat tomorrow.

Thanks for bringing this subject up. I honestly did not think the hub would fit the original prop shaft. Glad to be going back to original as equiped.

Love this forum.

Keep em coming guys.

Thanks

Well there is a saying, "Never put off tomrrow what you can do today". So I re-installed my original prop shaft.

Removed the one piece and by the way it was a true one piece shaft. Not welded.

Anyway I feel better with the original as equipped shaft.

here are pictures. Anyone got a prop their not using? For Freeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee? lol (Adam Sandler)

Allright allright allright. (Matthew McConohay)

Today was begun with rib #1 being seated and using the dihedral gauge. I set the rib to match it then glued it in place. After that was accomplished then it was time to install the dowel support then shear webs. I then installed the leading edge over rib 12. Pictures tell the story.

Also as a side note. I may be taking a break from building as I might be building a dedicated model shop in my back yard. Will keep you guys informed.

More to come

Oh yeah I almost forgot. One my club buddies let me borrow a prop and It fits just fine with the original prop shaft.

Next up is to sand the top of the wing in prep for sheeting.

Will post pictures when I can. I will not be building tomorrow as it is the 4th and I will be lake bound all day. You all have a safe 4th.

Ok I block sanded the top of the left wing and prepped it for sheeting. I went ahead and pre-profiled the leading edge on rib 12. Then took my sheeting which I made earalier and notched the end where rib 12 meets the sheeting. Then laid down the sheeting and used a straight edge to mark the centerr of the main spars to the sheeting. Then trimmed the sheeting. The piece that was trimmed has now made it's way over to the "root" end of the wing and it has been butt glued to the other end of the sheeting. I use aliphatic resin glue for this and masking tape.

Now the glue will dry overnight and I will commence laying down the sheeting on the 5th.

More to come.
