Default Canister installation iin 40% Carden Extra 330S... Help anyone??

Hi guys,

Due to sound restriction in our area. i am bound to install canisters on my giant airplanes and would like to start with either my 40% Carden Extra 330S or Edge 540.

What brand would you most recommend? i heard about the Krumshied L-vision which looks like to be a good alternative but maybe not the cheapest.

Would very much appreciate your input/experience as well as guidance on how to proceed with the install.... Photos etc...

Thank you in advance

best regards,

I have tried both MTW and Pro Flow. The Pro Flow has a touch more top end power and better mid range transition. The MTW 110 was the benchmark for years and I am currently running a set of them in my 3M Extra. If cost was not an option ( I got the MTWs in a package deal with an engine ) I would be running the Pro Flows.

Speed, are you fairly knowledgeable with regards to canisters? If so I'd like to pick your brain via PM's.

Extra, my install is in a CARF Extra 330 and would be worlds different then the install you would do in a Carden. I can tell you that the best thing to do is keep things simple. For a mount all you really need to do is provide something something for the canister to rest against such as a peice of rubber mat attached to a fiberglass rod running across the fuselage. Then I use a band made from silicon glow fuel tube to secure the the canister to the mat. The rubber mat wraps around the canister about 1/4. You will also need to make sure you get some airflow across the canisters as they need cooling just as your engine does. Some people will make a compartment to house the canisters but as long as there is enough airflow I personally do not see this as nesessary.

speedracerntrixie,

Thanks for your input.

Has anyone tried the MTW Knuckle headers on different brand canisters (i.e. not MTW canisters? ).

Thanks in advance,

Regards
