Here are a few more mod that I have done. I also sanded the struts down a bit where they meet the fuse. This helped but they will still poke through the fuse. So....I decided to make some "strut socks". I cut some fingers off a pair of gloves for the socks. The white areas on the firewall/mototrbox are CA hinges. They make great strengtheners. Here are some photos:

Nice job Johnny Z

I really like how we all fix things differently and how we all end up with the same results, fixed

Thanks for the kind words Cars II it is cool that we all do things just a bit differently for the same result. It has been a bit frustrating getting this plane done though. I had to take the wing tube to a friends who has a lathe so I could sand it down just for it to fit in the tube in the wing. All these things are done now so I just need to finish plumbing the tank and mount wheel pants and wheels the it is finally done.

I also really want to see the smoke system install (hint, hint).

Sweet.....this is a fun build.....you just have to know going in that you are going to have to make the mods so the motorbox stays together. Can't wait to see what you are going to do. Man I love this hobby. But sometimes not so much.

Johnny

We hear you, some times you just have to walk away and regroup for another day, the Citabria has not been an easy ARF but all that is in the past now, any questions or frustrations bring them here so we can help, we've been there already.

Here is some information regarding the NAV light set. It's LiPo supply will be my RX battery backup. The lights will blink if low batt voltage occurs and are remotely switched.

I inquired of Great Planes when stock of the Citabria ARF and the Dynaflite Decathlon kit would be available for purchase again. They told me mid-February on the Decathlon kit, and mid-April on the Citabria.

Today out of the blue Great Planes sent me replacement landing gear legs. Inclosed was a form letter from GP stating after listening to customer experiences and re-testing gear legs from present inventory, tempering in gear legs showed inconsistences from kit to kit.

Happy that GP stepped up and are resolving this issue, thank you

Today, I called Tower Hobbies about the landing gear replacement to see if I was on their list. They said they were aware of the letter in the forums and that my name was list and that the gear was sent out yesterday. It came in the mail today! That is what I call Customer Service!!!! I have been dealing with Tower Hobbies since the early '70s and I have never had a problem the this company.

I did buy the replacement gear from TNT, so now I'll have a spare set of landing gear.

I am another Norcal guy, but I am up in the Gold Country in Angels Camp.

I did per the instructions, so far so good, thick CA to position then the clear silicon glue they recommend, solid and clean.
