Bulldog build

I have had the Pitts at the paint booth for a few days now. I have been going over it real well and making the final adjustments as well as finishing a few things. I still need to install the upper wing joiner bolt system and angled blocks for the pants to mount square. But it is going to have to wait a few days, turns out a gent from MA magazine wants to do an article on my Pitts. But there are a few things I need to get done as well as some high res photos taken before I can send him all the info.

I'm glad to see you and the Eagle are receiving well deserved admiration. I'm happy for you...great job!! Take all the time you need and enjoy the ride. I'm looking forward to seeing the article and more pics.
Jeff
I have a subscription to MA so I'll be waiting for it to come in.

Sorry for the delay Jeff. I am on hold with getting mine out of the room to work on yours. I am waiting on vinyl for my new prop, should be Monday. Then I can clear coat it, mount it, tune my engine to it, and then re-assemble my Pitts. Then the room will be clear for getting back on yours. All I have to do is install the top wing bolt system and it is ready for covering then paint.

Well, I told Jeff earlier so I may as well let everyone else know. Right now it is just to hot to be using the chemicals for covering and paint. With the temps running in the mid nineties the room get's near a hundred, the fabric adhesive and paint product's flash off way to quick to be considered best practice. For example the Sig's stix-it will not penetrate into the wood, it just sit's on top. It will be near the end of September before it starts to cool. In the meantime if a cooler day come's, which it will, I will get something done.
Sorry for the delay!

Robert,
I don't think any one of us would rush your work...unless, maybe they're a few fries short of a Happy Meal. Lol!! Like I said in the email, take all the time you need. I'm with you...

Hello Robert and All,
I just purchased the EMHW 3.04m Pitts S1 from Vogelsang in the USA. The engine will be either a Valach 210 or Kolm 220 boxer.
This is my first build of a plane from a kit - so I'm sure there will be many questions.
At this stage I'm undecided on the covering and scheme. Expect the build to get underway in approximately 1 month after I construct a build table.
Thanks in advance for any help.
Regards - Jaketab

I have asked the moderators to give me the ability to add in new members to no avail. Being that I can't add them other than the current page and the fact that this site is being bombarded by add's as well as a general decline from what it use to be I am conceding on doing the brotherhood.
Thanks to those that came aboard. And, thanks, to those that have supported me in my Pitts mania. After I finish the current Pitts build you can find me on the Giant Scale news site. This, http://www.giantscalenews.com/thread...allenger.2728/, is my current thread and it will continue just as soon as the weather permits.
Again, thank you.

Hi Rob,
I know what you mean, adds are popping up and will soon take priority over the user ( if not already...). I'll continue to follow your builds and others as usual. Thanks for the heads up.

I registered over there earlier today. If RCU is going to continue to add ads to all the threads, etc they are going to find they are driving member away from them to the their competitors that don't bombard us with ads.

What ads are you seeing... I use an ad blocker, so I don't see anything other than the ad bar at the top of the forum main page... as soon as I select a sub forum, there are no ads, or popups windows.

Ahhh, that explains the odd post formatting ; I've been trying to edit my posts to get rid of the squashed format to little (or no) avail... the first post of any forum page, the text is pushed to the left side with a big open blank space to the right... I guess that blank space is were the ad is... I use firefox and an ad blocker plugin, so all I see is just blank spaces... I guess they need to pay for the used band width some how, but I certainly understand your frustrations, that's why I went with the ad blocker plugin.
John M,

I believe that is the ad blocker I'm using... they also have available "Adblock Plus Pop-up", which enhances Adblock Plus by adding mouse click pop-up ad blocking... the two plugins work together.

Guess what Jeff? I am back at it, a little anyways. When I decided to take a break from it because of the heat the wife asked if I would build a master bath on to the house. The bath is enclosed and ready for interior work but along with building it I also re-roofed and am installing vinyl siding around the whole thing. I am wore out and taking a break from home building/remodeling.
I have epoxied wood blocks into the pants to level up the mount, they will get sanded square with the gear leg so as to sit square with the airframe and ground. I should have these complete today. I picked up an 8-32 bolt, blind nut, and brass tube for building in the top wing joiner. The joiner will be worked on tomorrow.
These are the last task prior to covering.

Good to see ya taking a little break from the back breaking. Gotta do that now and then. Besides, NORMAL folk dont take a break because of the heat, and go and do a roof. Just saying. Lol
