The cool front that brought the rain finally pushed through, I guess, I noticed it was cooler and less humid. Soooooooo, the first (mist) coat is on, second and final coat coming shortly.

Kevin,

You're not kidding...a very exceptional plane. As I like to say...SICK!!
BTW, I used to live in Ballwin, Missouri a while back. Loved fishing in the summer but, certainly don't miss the cold winters. Also, miss how everyone was so friendly and would always say hi or good morning in passing. Don't expect that here in California. Not that everyone is rude, just that people are always in a hurry...to all my fellow RC nutts. You're always welcome here and If in the neighborhood let me know and I'll be more than happy to show you around town.( Born and raised in So Cal.) I know most of the flying fields and some of the best places to visit as a tourist that are hidden gems.

I just hope you like it up close and personal, it has it's flaws.
I will give it 24 hours to cure then I can put the ailerons, canopy, and cowl on. Then I will put it in my trailer and let the heat of a couple days cure it out some more, I want it good a cured before packing it up for shipping.

Back a few years, Californian's were very friendly... we use to have block parties, and the entire neighborhood would participate with great comradery, but the Liberals have such a strangle hold on the economy here now, everyone is miserable just trying to keep their heads above water... so much for socialism... Brown was a moron back 1975, and even more of a moron today!

Your not kidding, first off its suppose to have been Pink with the hello kitty scheme .

What flaws Ace, it look fantastic from here... maybe you should try wearing my glasses, then you'll be saying "what flaws, I don't see no flaws"... one perfectionist to another, no one will see them or know where to look except you... I bet you could walk up to the full sized aircraft and find all kinds of little things that, to some maybe considered off; nothing is exactly perfect ... Jeff's going to scratch it all up anyways wringing it out , but I suspect he'll be waxing it and showing it off for a bit before he does.

Well John, as with mine, there are specks in the finish, a few (albeit) small wrinkles in the vinyl, just little things like that. But, I know what your saying, with everything to look it takes a few times before one starts seeing those things. At that event I had a conversation with a full scale guy about mine, he said there are no flaws just thing's we would have preferred went differently. He said of all the planes he has owned and built there are always thing's that did not go quite right, not that they were wrong. If this were my Bulldog, I would be perfectly fine with the builder induced unwanted's, but it is not my expectations I am worried about.

Let me say this Ace, when I first opened the box to my H9 super cub, I was absolutely discussed with the quality, and I wasn't wearing my glasses, so you know it was terrible... I think when Jeff opens the crate to this Pitts, he'll probably need some "alone time" .

Most perfectionist beat themselves up over the slightest imperfection... where as the average individual are so grateful that it was done at a level beyond what they could achieve themselves, they wouldn't even notice those tiny specs or wrinkles... now if Jeff starts picking it apart, you just let me know, I'm only 45 minutes from him, I'll go over there and take it back !!!

Hey Ace, reading the part about the shop to be built I would go with the stand alone building .anything attached to the house you can never seal well enough to stop fumes from entering somehow. Wifey will never smell anything from a stand alone building

You forget I am a retired construction guy, believe me, I can build it (or have it built) so as to be smell free in the house.

I guess I'll have to fly it with the plastic that grandma used to cover the couch with...don't want any scratches, dings or dust on it. Lol!!

JohnM,

We know how fond you are of the Hello Kitty theme. Maybe we'll save that one for your next build...remember guys, as much as some of us really wanted it...hands off. It's exclusive only for Big JohnM. She's his Candy Crush. ♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡

LoL, I just can't see a vintage sopwith pup all pink with the hello kitty scheme on it... candy crush my ass

I've been following a couple Paolo Severin builds over at scalebuilders, a 1/3 scale L4, and a very detailed 1/4 scale Fieseler Fi156 Storch... I like the storch, but its not my kinda aircraft... I'm torn between the 1/3 scale L4, or the 1/3 JW sopwith pup... getting sick of cubs; though that L4 could be made into a very detailed replica, as would the pup.

Ace, can't you just imagine giving that bipe a trip or two around the patch?! I'd be in Heaven.

His Eindecker would be a nice one, too. I got to take a couple of laps around the field with Macboss' Eindecker at the 2015 Ohio Dawn Patrol. A very nice flying WW1 bird!

I would luv to have that "MHM Scale Aircraft 40% DHC-2 ‘Beaver"... you don't get anymore realistic than that... the price is probably just as large, and @ 200+ pounds, I would be surprised to see one here in the states.

I hope Jeff's wife doesn't sue Robert for alienation of affections after Jeff gets his airplane!

See you went about it all the wrong way... what you did wrong was to first treat yourself with an amazing gift... the wife sees that as she comes second.

What I do, is get something real nice and bling'y from K's jewelers... then I present it to her with the box sitting on an open page of the RC catalog that has what I want on it... then I slide the box and catalog in front of her and say "I was thinking of you today sweetheart"... then after she's finished appraising her new gift with excitement, I go into action... "I was thinking of getting that so and so on page18 for myself, what'ch think honey... I know I'm golden ...I've done that for so long now, she immediately sides the box off the catalog and looks over the pages and says, "so what is it this time" and looks at me with a big smile as she then opens the little box... "oh just something I'd like to have, I got that from K's you know"... "aaah haaa" she says... she's cottoned on, but she's not about to give up that little box .

You know the saying "its a give and take relationship"... well you give first, then you take ! .
