Anyone familiar with these aircraft? It is my understanding the cowl is 12" in diameter? If that is the case how about a DLE 61 twin for a power plant? They measure about 10 1/2" overall and look like they have the correct weight and power.

I happen to have one that I've been flying for about 6 months by now, it has a twin BME 61 and it is just a joy to fly, for prop I'm using a 22X10 Xoar prop, mine is V1 with a one piece wing and wires for the main gears.
Let me know if you need any more details,

I had a G-62 in mine. Beautiful and graceful. After about 3 years the joiner tube bent during a flight. I got it down in one piece but never trusted it again. I did replace the aluminum tube with one made of carbon fiber, but the planes structure, internally, was damaged by the tube failure. I eventually scrapped it.

I'm assuming the Maxford is the Pacific? Did you make any changes/mods to the Gen II? Hopefully all the shortcomings of the first version were corrected with the second. Landing gear seemed to be the major complaint, maybe the struts will do the trick.
