Haven't had a lot of time to work on it, but I just about have the lights done. I formed a couple covers to help the looks a little. They also seem to help with the spread of the light. The strobes will blind you straight on, but they do not show up quite as well if you are in front or behind the aircraft.
I still have to make my mind up on the landing lights. I have flashlight reflectors in now, which I like the look of and want to keep. The landing lights that came with the booma RC kit are larger diameter, and I'd have to really gut out the reflectors if I could even still use them at all. I may order a couple of the smaller strobes and use them as landing lights. The two sizes are interchangeable as strobes or landing lights.

However, my father got back into RC airplanes. So, every week he buys a new almost ready to fly. So, instead of spending the weekends working on my Cessna, I wind up working on his airplanes. It's fine. But I was really hoping to get the Cessna finished in time for the Joe Nall. I am, however, using a Great Planes Rimfire 65cc outrunner motor with a 12 cell lithium battery 10,000 mAh.

Now, we are both so busy....It's not often we make it out to the field together.
Your plane is looking great!! Did you frame it up from the plans? I'll be interested in hearing how the electric power goes...should be sweet.
Feel free to post progress in here, or start a thread.....would be cool to see it come together!

I was able to make it out to the field this past weekend with the Cessna and had a friend try to video a little bit. It's not a long vid....I may post a longer one after I experiment with stitching shots together.

Congratulations on this beautiful model!!!!
Since 2 years I´m working in the same model, based on the original plan from Wendell Hostetler. Your video ist the first which I found in YouTube, really great! The take off was absolutely perfect!!!

Yep. I’m finally on the last little bits and pieces of the build. Installing the servos in the wing, installing the wing struts, attaching the wheel pants, create a battery tray for the lipos since it will be electric, and then cover the plane.
Question on for you: How are your wing struts attached to the wing and fuse? Can you please post some pics of how they are attached.

Good to hear you are making progress Saul!
I think I saw on youtube an electric version like yours....
So the struts that came with mine were built and covered. Looks to be hardwood with some aluminum sandwiched on the ends....I do not have a set of plans, so I'm not even sure how they are supposed to be built. These have some weight to them and are held in place with 10-32 if I remember right. I would like to go back this winter and incorporate the "cuffs" to make them look nicer and more scale.

Struts
Thanks for the pic! 😊 very helpful. I had purchased some 1-1/2” wide airfoil shaped aluminum struts from Sea Commander. They’re no longer in business but Keleo Creations was selling them for years along with an attachment system. I no longer see them on Keleo’s website. I have 2 ideas of how to attach them. One is to use the same technique used to attach the struts outlined in the assembly manual for the Hangar 9 Cessna 182. The other is very similar to the way yours are attached. Trial and error.

Took a little time to pull the Cessna down and am in process of finishing off a few things before the upcoming season. Number one on my list was to get a pilot on board. Nothing fancy here, but it will do the job....
The seats are made of lite ply, rigid foam, and sock/legging material. I also decided to thin down the pilot door....if you look back, you'll see how thick it was....should have fixed that from the beginning.
Working on a few more things....kind of fun just playing around with it....

Fiberglass cuffs
