Been a builder for long time and have always had an issue with getting the plan cutout off the ply and balsa. I've usually used a contact type spray to glue the plan part (wing rib, etc) to ply or balsa. Then before I can glue things I have to sand off the paper as glue doesn't stick to paper. What are you guys using for this that works good.

I use 3M 77 spray to adhere the plan to the wood. Wiping a paper towel dampened with Mineral Spirits over the paper dissolves the glue. I think mineral spirits may dissolve most contact sprays.

Hit the paper with a heat gun and peal the plan remnants off.

3M 77 sprayed real light (dusted) on the paper template.

Cut out your part/parts immediately.

Peel the paper off immediately.

I've never had an issue with the template sticking down so hard on the balsa/ply that I couldn't peel it off unless I sprayed way too much glue down.

I use Scotch re-stickable glue sticks . If the plan has be glued on for more than a couple hours you may need a pass with the heat gun . Usually omes off clean .
