The pattern was sprayed on initially.
I had a lot of seepage under the tape so most lines have been
fixed with a small brush, still have some more meters to fix...

If there was Solartex with the right color I would have used that instead of the paint.

Fellas,
although my plane is not a WH, there is not much room left for too different a design, I made it almost the same way, except that the wire bracing is not sandwiched between the uprights but on scale location, as a double "Y" soldered together - actual an one-piece bracing similar to the WH one, to which the outer and upper braces were soldered. The upper wire engages into the ply rootrib to hold everything together.
And the uprights are hard balsa cut and sanded to shape, the front ones being split where they reach the ply sidewall, so to create a support for the aluminum sheeting.

Sam, looks like you'll be in the air at no time...

HI Marcus,

I am still waiting for Sig to have a Spacewalker ready. They have been out of stock for months now and predict "maybe by the end of this month". I initially ordered the kit in November, so it's been a while now
Because of the difficulty with shipping, I was hoping to pick one up in the States next month, so if they don't have it by then, I might go for something else.

Regards

Ari

Ari, Sam and Donnie,
today I finally am going to post the CDs with the pix of SDs and Citabrias.
Sorry for being so late, but I it wasn't possible before. I burned 4 CDs but I just can't remember who was the fourth musketeer...Lee, was that you? If yes, please send me your address again since I misplaced it and just don't have the time to leaf thru the pages of this thread looking for it...

Donnie, where are you? How's your SD coming along??

Ari, let's hope you don't loos interest on the SW, it's just a nice plane to model. If the Sig thing doesn't work out, why not trying to build from plans as well? One can always get a plan borrowed from someone else to copy on the copyshop, and have a kit cut by one of the cutters.

If you ever get your's from SIG then don't forget to send me a copy...

[img][/img][img][/img][img][/img]Hello again....on the Space walker...I wonder if Ken might have some plans or know where to get them. I think he has been there.....
The scale supports are a great addition Ari. I want to add them as soon as I get everything attached. I did some slight mods on the Hostetler verticals and the F15s were warped on the laser cutting so I redid those in ply....I will try to attach a couple of pics. I didn't get to work on it today...finished one of the showers I have been retiling....How is fall down there Ari? We have an exchange student from Argentina with our Rotary club here. She is a lot of fun to listen to talk about SA. She is from an agricultural area. We have had them stay with us from Mexico, Germany, Argentina, Japan. The young lady who is here at the moment is staying with other families. Have a great day to all!
Looking good in Norway there....and your truck is great as well! I think I remember one pic of it in the snow! Later JJ

Kellerman,
That is copyright violation! Please don't suggest that.

Hey Dick,
what is copyright violation? Making a copy of a plan? Sorry, I don't want to start a fight here, but I have to disagree - as far as I understand it, one can make copies for his own use without breaking the law. Even if it is (technically) it's common pratice allover the world that most people make copies of the original plan before cutting it in parts for better handling in the workshop, keeping an intact copy in the file. Giving that copy away or making a second one as a favor for a friend is not against the law, as long as no one is going to sell or make profit on it.
A second interpretation could be that when one builds from plans, does it mean when building a second airplane one must purchase a second plan??
Well, anyway, I want to make it clear that I only asked Ari to send me a copy - not to sell me one.

Hi Doc,
seems that your images didn't come thru again this time...a pity.

Down here in the southern Brazil the fall is one of the nicest times in the year. It's our actual flying season, since during summertime it's way too hot to fly during the day except early mornings ad late afternoon. Fall/Winter is more or less the same, except for a couple of weeks with temps around 5 deg. Celsius in the Winter.
In Argentina which is next doors they have more defined Fall and Winter, it gets real cold specially in the southern part where they have weather similar to USA (same latitude).

As for Spacewalker plans, I do have a set of plans enlarged from a smaller one, enlarging them once again at the copyshop will distort them apart from the tracing that becomes too fat and blurry. That's why I asked Ari since he's going to buy a SIG kit.

OK, enough of this toy airplane stuff! If you want to get the Real Plans and reduce them at your own peril, then go to this site: http://www.warnerair.com/. It's a pretty interesting web site.

Marcus, fall is my favorite time to fly also. Nice temperature and light winds.

Hi Jim,

Autumn (fall) is coming very nicely here. It's in my view the best flying time of the year with temperatures a bit cooler and often a nice gentle breeze. It's also my favourite season due to the often vivid colours on the trees.
It's good to see how you are making good progress on your SD. My building time is very limited these days due to work comitments but I was hoping to get in a few hours this weekend. I am hoping that things will settle down somewhat in June.

Marcus,
Look very much forward to seeing that CD from you. It's not every day the mailman brings me someting from Brazil. I think you must be the only person I know in Brazil.

Ken, thanks for the photos of the tail bracing. I might shamelessly steal your idea there if you don't mind.
I was thinking about slipping an aluminium tube over the 4-40 rods and fill with epoxy to make it appear a bit thicker. Then fit the rigging ends, nuts and straps like you did.

I wonder how Lee is going. He has been very quiet as of late. Does anyone know how he is going with his SD?

Best regards to all of you.

Ari

Ari
thanks. The CD was dispatched yesterday by normal mail, will probably take a week to reach you. Sam, Donnie - the same.
Probably you'll notice some confusion and double flies, especially the Citabria file. Look for the folder inside the Citabria folder. That is the last version.
It happened because I used a non re-writable CD, so some of the pix were burnt earlier and then when updating the pix I had to burn them all again, without erasing the older ones.

Hope they can be of any help.

Ken, I just sent you a nice pic of a Jungie. Btw, tanks for the tip on the warner site, it's been a long time since I last visited them and talked to Mike Dwyer. He's their salesman and pilot, and the one who posted all the Sportster pix under my request, all taken from a modelers perspective...

See ya'll around

I'm doing fine here. Just need to get a little warmer and I'll be painting the SD. Things are hit and miss as far as temps here still.
I think I may have accidentally blocked the RCU sending address because I have not been getting any notification of new posts. I have all the proper boxes checked etc but still need to check in to see if any new posts have been made. When you guys get notified of this post I would appreciate it if you would check the name under the sender field and email me that info. Then I can check to see if it's on my blocked list.
Marcus, I would like to have a CD if you still have one to spare.

Hey Tudor Man,
I just sent you the requested heading info.

And yes, I have one CD so I'll send it out this week. I tried to get the additional info on the PP-ZPA which happens to be the SD you're modeling, but no success yet. Will keep trying.

Thanks Marcus and Ari. I think I have figured out what is going on. I have my email set up to block all email that isn't addressed to me and it seems that our notifications are addressed to [email protected]. I have added that address to my accepted addresses and we'll see if that helps.
