@SoCalSal
Thanks Steve for your tips, now I can imagine, what a monster this engine is.
I want to hold her with four cords, attached at the cabane struts and at the gear on both sides.
So I have a 4 point attachment, think, thatĀ“s enough. I will lash her on the foot of my 3 meter garden sun-umbrella(150kg).
One question I have, the adjustment of the two needles, L+H, I didnĀ“t change it since delivery. I heard, before shipping they
make a test run and you should not change these adjustments? Is that right?
Bernie

Have a great day Bernie.back to work on the Stearman for me now.
P.S. Bernie I still recommend you have someone there with you when you start the engine.....what if the really bad situation happens and you need to get medical help quickly???? If it were not for my son being home the day I got hit by the prop I would have bleed to death before the medics got to me.it was that bad!!! my son saved my life by knowing how to control the bleeding till medical help arrived.

Puuuuhhhhh................
lovely expectations, I promise, Ido my best.
But thereĀ“s a little bit time (2-3 weeks) until than.
Steve, how do you handle the choke, do you use him only to soak the gas to the carburator,
or do you use him to start with ignition on?

.S. Keep choke closed at first when starting............the engine will fire then stop..............then open choke and high idel and it should start right up. Engine will idel good at 850-900 rpm after it is warm. I belive starting instuctions are included in the owners manuel.

I received a reply from Proctor telling me I needed to order direct from Barth and they gave me a link to the Barth site and the site does not work. The front page loads and that is it, all the links on the site are broken and you cannot browse their site or get any contact info. Does anyone have any contact info for Barth?
Thanks!!
Anthony

Well it doesn't work for me,
The Block at the top of the web page where all the links are appear as little blocks with red "X" in them, the links will not work for me. This is getting very frustrating trying to buy a cowling and wheel pants.

I received another e-mail from Proctor Enterprises giving me the e-mail address for Barth. I have sent them an e-mail requesting a phone # and also asking whether I can order a cowling and wheel pants directly frm them.

I am not sure what my issue is with the site, I turned off pop-up blocker and it still wouldn't work, I got on here at work without an issue. I think I see the Waco cowling in the price mlist but I am not totally sure since I cannot read German. I will try and call them on monday.
Thanks!!

Tell the "Brothers" to forgive me but I'm building a big Stearman at this time. I still have my Barth Waco though.... It is just a beautiful bird and flys very well at 46 lbs. I plan on doing some improvements to it after I get the Stearman in the air. Things like providing more acess hatches to get to the hardware inside a bit eaiser and improving my landing gear pants.I keep cracking them on some landings so I want to cure that as well.

I couldnĀ“t wait until monday and I went to my model dealer and got it TODAY!!!!!!!!!!
ItĀ“s a great radio, especially the short response time, it feels like directly steering, when you know, what I mean.
BUT: thereĀ“s a big bug with my powerbox, the reciever 6014 FS has only a impuls voltage of 2,76V and that could
be not enough for my powerbox, when she gets warm over 50Ā°C. There was a warning notice today on the german
website of robbe, thats the distributor of futaba here in germany.
I hope, I can get help by the manufactor of my powerbox.
ThatĀ“s the first reciever of futaba, which is working with an impus voltage of 2,76V, all other recievers are working with 3,3V.[>:][>:][>:]

Steve,
You are Brother #46. Anytime you forget, got to any page ending in 0 (zero) to find the Waco Brotherhood List. The later in the thread, the more current the list.

RE: Buiding pics Waco YMF-5 Barth Modellbau
Steve,
only the reciever 6014 is working with 2,76 V impulse voltage. In your case with the 40/16 Evo powerbox there is the possibility,
to make an alteration at Deutsch Modellbau, the manufactor of your powerbox. You have to ask your dealer!
In my case with the 40/24 Competition I donĀ“t know, whatĀ“s to do.
These 2,76V could be not enough for the powerbox, when it getĀ“s warm over 50Ā°C, and ONLY than!
I sent on friday an e-Mail to Deutsch Modellbau about this problem. I will report, when I get response.

WhatĀ“s to do is the final installation of the RC components and make itĀ“s coordination.
Also the rollout and offcourse the maiden flight..................puuuuuuuuuuuuuh!
But I MUST say it now and here: I LOVE THIS PLANE!
