Westwindpilot86,
The only source I was aware of in US was Proctor. But I talked with them a month or so ago and learned they are no longer bringing them in. You might need to go directly to Barth.

I am building the Barth 1/4 scale Waco. How do you access the radio/servo compartment in the fuse. Was going to try and do it through the cockpit opening, but do not think it is large enough. Considering bolting in the center section of the bottom wing. What do you think?

I know this is an old thread, but am hoping to find some info.
I recently purchased a 1/3rd scale Barth Waco from an estate sale. It is built, but never flown and no powerplant was installed. Can anyone help out with the CG on this baby?

Brad.......I know there have been guys on this thread who have built the 1/3 Barth Waco. They must not be paying attention right now. I found this thread on calculating the CG of a biplane. It will work for any biplane & I've used it on all of mine.

Give it a try.

Hey Jon,
I've been working on the 1/4 Barth Waco, on & off, for the past few years. I was advised not to bolt the bottom wing center section. I ended up designing a removable cockpit. I'm not sure yet how it's going to work out but I think okay. I know it won't be scale but I'm not planning on entering any contests anyway. Besides, I just like the challenge of doing such things, I know it drives the purist scale guys nuts but they'll get over it.
I'm in FL until spring. When I return to MI maybe we can commiserate 😎

Hi Bob,
At the time I brought up the idea of the bolt-on bottom wing center section there were a few guys on the thread with far more experience with the Barth Waco than I had. It was their general opinion that the glued-in center section was part of the integrity of the fuse structure and that altering it to a bolt-in design would compromise that. So based on their opinion I chose to forget my bolt-in idea. So who knows, it might work just fine.
