Default SNOW ON MY FIELD HELP!

Can anyone tell me what they do when their field has snow on the runway? I want to fly tomorrow its my day off. The runnway is covered in about 3 inches of snow. I have a 35% Aeroworks Yak with a DA 100. I am thinking of raking the runway but maybe that is a bad idea. Maybe you can take off and land on snow? Its soft fluffy snow. Not wet.
Maybe I should stay home and watch the SeaHawks get beat by Chicago?
Maybe someone from Chicago knows what to do?
I dont have skiis to put on so my choices are limited. Also our runway is sort of short. I live in the Seattle area and fly at the Rams field. I am an addicted flying nut job and rarely do I ever take a day off from flying unless there is just no way to fly.
Thanks
Darren

leave the big one at home, get a profile and put skiis on it... flying off the snow is great... but wheels and snow don't mix

Turn your wheelpants upside down. Instant Skis. Don't worry about the tailwheel.

You think I'm kidding? I ain't. I saw a guy doing this at our annual Frozen Fingers fun fly on January 01 this year. It was slick and worked perfectly.

As RCPilet says, what we do and have been doing in Colorado is fly off skis. Don't you guys up there in WA.have some apple barrel staves laying around the shop that you could use for skis? Tom

Or just mist the snow with water. It will freeze tonight and then you got an ice runway.

Who needs a runway. Just hover it in for a landing.

Severely retard the timing on your DA100 and flip it backwards till it fires.

Then walk the runway holding the tail and BLOW the snow off!

Great advice!
I will stay home. G3 and watch games. I don't want to waste my time plowing snow while Alexander is plowing bears.

3 inches, soft and fluffy?
It should be easy to remove unlike heavy and sticky snow. A big plane with big tyres might roll on it OK even as is.

Over here we make skis on our planes. I recommend you make them also.
When you fly in coldbreeze and in snowy conditions it makes flying in summer a piece of a cake.

Picture from today, plane is the Colombo 27% extra.

OnTheEdge - Damn - That is one mean snowthrower! I'll bet that it works well as a front-loading manure spreader in the summer, too.

Take the car and drive back and forward so the tire will pack the snow, then you can fly!

Holy crap!!!! Do you have plans for that thing? Its more of a snow supercharger rather than a snow blower. I could use that thing. I plow a 1/4 mile driveway and a half acre up by the house. Its got to get better mileage than my 4X4 snow plow. I even have a spare 350 small block out in the shop. I guess I could use the 440 mopar, it might pull the hill better.
