Default Anyone using HS 985MG's in 50cc?

I recently acquired five Hitec HS 985MG servos and was wondering if anyone is using these servos in 50cc aerobatic planes. Their specs look good (fast and strong) and they are coreless so on paper they seem like they'll be good for this application. How do the gear trains hold up? Just wondering if anyone has any practical experience with them. 50cc is about as big as I ever plan to go.

They will work fine in everything, even the rudder.
Control System: +Pulse Width Control 1500usec Neutral
Required Pulse: 3-5 Volt Peak to Peak Square Wave
Operating Voltage: 4.8-6.0 Volts
Operating Temperature Range: -20 to +60 Degree C
Operating Speed (4.8V): 0.16sec/60° at no load
Operating Speed (6.0V): 0.13sec/60° at no load
Stall Torque (4.8V): 144 oz/in. (9.6kg.cm)
Stall Torque (6.0V): 172 oz/in. (12.4kg.cm)
Operating Angle: 45 Deg. one side pulse traveling 400usec
360 Modifiable: Yes
Direction: Clockwise/Pulse Traveling 1500 to 1900usec
Current Drain (4.8V): 5.3mA/idle and 400mA no load operating
Current Drain (6.0V): 6.6mA/idle and 500mA no load operating
Dead Band Width: 4usec
Motor Type: Coreless
Potentiometer Drive: Indirect Drive
Bearing Type: Dual Ball Bearing
Gear Type: 3 Metal Gears and 1 Resin Metal Gear
Connector Wire Length: 11.81" (300mm)
Dimensions: 1.55" x 0.78"x 1.48" (39.4 x 20 x 37.8mm)
Weight: 2.18oz. (62g)

Run them at 6 volts and you will have more than enough power for every surface, a 50cc plane only actually needs 78oz on ailerons and elevators and 120 on the rudder.

But are metal gear servos safe to use on a gasser plane. I thought I read somewhere , the vibrations from the gas engine wreck metal gears YES/NO?

I use metal geared hi torque servos on most all of my gassers.. no problems. I've heard of serious problems with "Karbonite" gears on gas planes and planes over 12 lbs.[X(]

I'm using 985's on a 50cc ultimate, it hasn't flown yet but will when the weather permits I'll let you know. skyflyer
