Default Midwest 300XS

I purchased a Midwest 300xs at an auction a few years ago. Can anyone tell me where the CG is on this plane? I am also looking for a good gas engine match for this plane. Any help would be great.

Thanks in advance

Hi there. I am just in the process of building one now. The recommened c of g on the plans is at the back of the rear spar web, or 1/8" back of the spar. For an engine Im using the MVVS 45. I think anything around the 45 to 50cc range should be good.

Isn't that a tad much for engine? Mine flys great with a MOKI 180.

Hi Bill. I don't know about being a tad too much for power. I thought it should be just about perfect.[8D]
Midwest recommends for gas from a 2.2 to 3.2 cu. in. and from 14 to 17 lbs. What did you end up with for weight on yours? I am flying a similar size cap with a 42cc and its a pretty good match, although the vertical is no rocket ship for sure.

It's about 11 pounds. I don't build heavy though. The Moki does really well with it.
