Default San Jose area

I will be in the San Jose area in a week or so, can anyone tell me if there are any good hobby shops in the area or local flying sites.

Thanks
Ron

you might want to check out San Antonio hobby show in Mt View . Sheldons hobby shop in San Jose . these are big hobby shops that have been around for 40 + years and are the only ones that I feel are warth going to . also a neat but small hobby shop is J&M hobby house in San Carlos,

Flying fields , In San Jose there is a big , super nice field by the name Tomcat field .. there are many in the area , 12 that I know of within a 80 miles from San Jose , tomcat field is your best for big planes ,

For electric stuff try Areomicro. Perry has lots of great electric stuff. You can Google them and get directions from their web site.

I thought San Antonio Hobbies closed about 3 years ago. Did somebody re-open a shop with that name again?

San Antonio is closed. There is Sheldon's and California Hobbies now. AeroMicro also has some gas stuff, but is mostly geared towards electric. Sheldon's has gone down hill IMO. California Hobbies is not bad. There's also a Hobby Town in Cupertino, but it's not very good either. Isn't there one over in Livermore too?

Yeah, I grew up in that shop. Spend many weekends looking for my next model to build there. Lots of those guys are still around, but in different shops around the south bay.
