RE: Cessna 195
Hi Tom I know I'm making you crazy with this BUT, can you email me pics of the cowl, or post them. I have alreay cut the cowl I have for the engine and such, THEN I get a bright idea, scale exhaust,,, duh!!. I'd like to see yours and if it'll maybe work before I pull the trigger. Thanks again for all the help, and you too Ken. [)]

RE: Cessna 195
Tom, pretty good looking cowl, I was able to contact Iron Bay, and the have them too. The one I have is from the last of teh Byrons, and the quality was slipping, it's full of bubbles in the resin, it'd take puty for days to fill it in.

Eric, I just got of the phone, with Anton, in South Africa. He has a friend with a full scale 195.
Anton is going to do a complete walkaround, including cockpit pics !!! He's a scale builder, and knows what we are looking for, in the way of details.
My CD from John has arrived, but I haven't had a chance to view it.
I can't believe how well my documentation is falling in to place.

RE: Cessna 195
Hey guys!
THere is some really good pictures (600 or so)in the gallery at http://www.cessna195.org/gallery/
Dad is an expert on what is original and what is not....(I was to young to pay attention)
If you have any specific questions I would be happy to pick his 80 year old brain. We did the factory tour in the 70's and the people in the 195 club can be quite the buffs.
For example there was a heavy gear and a light gear. Dad's plane had light gear. You could stall it 1 inch above the ground and it would bounce [X(]
The plane was produced from 1947 to 1954 (my memory) and lots of those pictures in the gallery above and lots of planes in the field are modified to some extent.... not original paint, not original engine, not original interior, etc. etc.
